[slim] Experimental new service: Record any AM/FM radio shows and listen on demand
Here's a way to listen to almost any radio AM/FM/Net radio show on demand on a Squeezebox. 1) Go to http://DAR.fm and search for shows to record. There's a database of about 20,000 shows and 5,000 stations to record from. If you record a show then all future broadcasts will be recorded automatically for you. (If you don't see the station you desire, you can add it using the "Change the Guide" link at the bottom of the page if you have a MP3 or AAC stream.) 2) Add the MP3tunes app from mysqueezebox.com 3) Go to Playlists in the MP3tunes app and look for items with DAR prefix. Here it will list all the recorded shows which you can click to play. A few other points/tips: - DAR.fm is a free service to record any one series (all shows that are broadcast of any given show). To record up to 10 shows costs $40/year. - If you have a MP3tunes account you can use that account info on DAR.fm. - If you paid for a premium MP3tunes account then you'll automatically have a Pro DAR.fm account and be able to record up to 10 different shows. - Shows are automatically chunked into 15 minutes chunks so clicking FF or Rewind will move 15 minutes. - To fast-forward in smaller increments click and hold the FF button while the show is playing until a progress bar appears. Then click the FF again and hold down to navigate to the desired location. If you have any issues or feedback please email me or post here. mich...@michaelrobertson.com mp3michael's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38532 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94509 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

mortslim wrote: > what is logitech doing about finding a replacement service? Here's how you can access podcasts to play on your Squeezebox. 1) Go to DAR.fm and create an account. 2) Search for the show(s) that you want and click the "record" button. DAR.fm has a wide range of podcasts to select from. If the podcast you desire is not listed then click "Change the guide" link on the bottom of every page and add the podcast as a show. You'll immediately be able to record it. 3) Go to mysqueezebox.com and add the MP3tunes app 4) In the MP3tunes app go to Playlists and here you'll see a list of your shows that looks like this DAR-xxx where xxx is the name of the show. Click it and it will play. All new podcasts will automatically appear in this menu as they're published. Is > there any other solution for streaming my own music to the squeeze > players? > > Greetings, > Phatair The MP3tunes account has a new capability which makes it more interesting. You can record and play back any recorded radio show. Here's how it works. - Go to http://DAR.fm and create an account if you don't already have one - Select a radio show from their database of 20,000 AM/FM and podcast shows - Add MP3tunes app to your Squeezebox at mysqueezebox.com - Open MP3tunes app on your Squeezebox and go to Playlist directory. Here you'll see DAR.fm recordings which you can play. New recordings will be added to this list as they're broadcast. This makes Squeezebox the ultimate radio capable of playing any radio show on demand (once it's recorded). Give it a try. I think you'll like it. mp3michael's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38532 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94294 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Napster- Rhapsody playlist issues
Hello I'm in the UK and have been on Napster for years. All my beautiful playlists seem to have been destroyed in the switchover - ugh The old Napster player seemed to be able to handle a library consisting of music on your hard-drive plus streamed tracks. Also, my playlists consisted of both types. However, the new Napster 5 (Rhapsody) web player, cannot seem to recognise music stored on my hard drive. So my playlists have become much smaller. I cant find a way to synchronise ... Also, it does not seem possible to install the Napster/Rhapsody player software in the UK. Is it as bad as it seems ? I looked at this page http://www.dr.dk/hjaelp/DR%20Netradio/20111020145139.htm and here I'm able to connect to the windows media streams, whereas the mp3 and AAC streams are not working. Re: [slim] Planned outage - Wed April 4th
One issue is not solved however I log in I eventually get thrown out and have to login again ( computer or ipad ). This usually happens while writing a long post so I learned to ctrl-c all the time . It is infuriating when you spent 15-30 minute writing a post and it's suddenly disappear when you post it ? This happens a lot for me, you get some bizarre error message and when pressing back button to recover what you wrote it is gone, so ctrl-c all the time while writing. I usually login 5-10 times every evening when I'm on the forum . The desktop may have some browser settings to tigt, but the iPad has safari "as is" no over paranoid settings and tapatalk logs out to so I think it is a forum bug for sure.
