[slim] SBT not working - help please

2012-05-22 Thread Nick_G

My SBT has decided to stop working properly this morning. Touching any
menu option that involves connecting to the internet such as Favourites,
Shoutcast, TuneIn etc results in no response apart from the bleep. Also
the screen is blank on standby instead of showing the time. I did a
network diagnostics test and all is well. Signal strength from the
router is OK. I also checked MySB from the computer and that is fine
too.

Any ideas anyone? Is this another MySB issue?

Thanks,
Nick

Aha! I notice there's a similar thread on the SB Radio forum. So have
Logitech got a problem?

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Squeezeslave: 1.2 released

2012-05-22 Thread pdeoliveira

Hello Ralphy,
First of all, thank you for your great job on SqueezeSlave.
I'm using it on a Linux box with an xmos multichannel reference design
as a USB source.
I'd like to use it for 24/96 files, which is not currently possible.
I've already look into the code, and it seems possible.
I have some programing skills and I'm ready to help. Maybe you already
started some work on this subject and I don't want to make things
twice.
So, please let me know what I can do.

Pascal

Re: [slim] Is there an EASY way to get a classic up and running without a remote?

2012-05-22 Thread musicom

If you have a universal remote, the Squeezebox uses JVC DVD remote
codes. I don't know the equivalent of the brightness key, which is used
for some alternate functions, but the basic transport and 10 key/t9
functions are somewhat intuitive.

all is working on my end. Are you using only mysb.com or also a local
LMS. Have you unplugged TOUCH, then rebooted your router (and let fully
start), then replugged in your
TOUCH. If using local LMS, also reboot machine running LMS (after
rebooting router and letting router fully start).

Haven't been able to mess with it lately, but to clarify...as i scroll
down my Artists list, I get numbers, I presume matching the number of
that artist in a list of all the Artists available. Will send logs when
possible

If you're less computer savvy, there is always the option of getting a
Logitech Harmony remote. This remote has the Squeezebox remotes in its
database. And it is a great universal remote too.

Well, I just got back from work, touched the screen on the SBT, the time
immediately came up, and hey presto it's working again. I think Logitech
must have had a few server gremlins this morning.

The Harmony Remote may be the way to go, for $30, I will gamble a reset
will solve my connection troubles.

Thanks

Nice SB2. I still have one that I use on a shelf above my workbench. The
form factor of the SB2 works better than an SB3 in that spot.

The remote from a Squeezebox Touch will also work fine .

With one exception there is no brigthness button .

This may only be a real problem if it's firmware is very very old ( been
in it's box for several years ).
Way back you where required to press the brigthness button to accept an
firmware update

I bought two SB2 lately, they work like a charm, the second one was
supposed to b defective and finally work (connected to LAN).
Also the small and cute Insignia Infocast 3.5 could be used as streamer,
I bought three for very cheap. (less than 15$ box each).
It's very cool that all that technology could be connected together.
