Re: [slim] MusicIP with new UE server?

2012-09-23 Thread Michael Herger

Generally plugins that provides browse menus for local or internet
content might be possible while plugins that provides screen savers or
dynamic playlists won't fit in the new solution.

Dynamic playlists might actually be possible (if I do understand the term
correctly). If they implemented their own protocol handler, they would get
some feedback whenever a track changes. This way they could keep the list
up to date, or modify it on the fly etc. But as long as we haven't
re-enabled the plugin installer this is kind of a moot point. I'm working
on it.

Not in 10.0.0. As erland mentioned we might re-introduce it in some later
release. I'd like to clean up a few things before we include it in the
build again.

old LMS plug-ins in the new server?

RandomPlay has been re-introduced in 10.0.1. But it's limited compared to
LMS in that it will not automatically add tracks to the list. Similar to
how MusicIP works in LMS it would simply create one static (long) playlist.

Most of the other stock LMS plugins are of no use in UEML, as they were
related to playback control - which no longer happens in UEML.

Re: [slim] What should be in the next version of SqueezePad ?

2012-09-23 Thread dpaws

A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the
results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80575

Question: Whats your highest priority ?

- More images of your music collection
- Playlist management
- Syncing Players Variation A
- Syncing Players Variation B
- MySqueezebox.com Integration
- TrackStat Ratings
- Caching of Album + Artist Lists
- Album Art Only Screen
- Better Search
- Something else - Please do the poll with different options !

Firstly, thank you so much for your continued enthusiasm for this app,
it's the main reason I've stuck with the Logitech system over the
rivals. On the new iPad the app is excellent.

This may not be the place but I would very much enjoy the following
additional features

1) A full album art browse (I've voted on your pole)
2) The focus/swim options that are employed in the Sooloos software
which are excellent for selecting a pool of tracks for a random
playlist.
3) A random playlist generator plugin based on mathematical algorithms
as the B&O "MOTS" where you select a "seed" and it does the rest (but
avoids relying on tagged metadata) I understand that MusicIP tried to
achieve this in the past.

Thanks again

I think they intend to support it because there are commits during the
last 2 weeks which indicates they are about to re-enable MusicIP plugin
in the UE Music Library server.

Currently the plugin installer is disabled, so if you are talking about
third party plugins they currently can't be easily installed in UE Music
Library server.
Generally plugins that provides browse menus for local or internet
content might be possible while plugins that provides screen savers or
dynamic playlists won't fit in the new solution.

Hey Ralphy,

Thanks for making this! Until now, other solutions for streaming music
from my ReadyNAS/LMS to my Mac were not as satisfactory. Just curious,
why can't SqueezePlay automatically pick up the current default output
device (just like every other app) instead of having to specify one
through an environment variable? I have the same question about the max
sample rate - I realize this might be harder to automate.

Anyway, these are very minor and I am very happy with your solution!

Re: [slim] All / Logitech Help! Repair of broken Squeezebox 3 (Classic) - analog out won't work

2012-09-23 Thread slimhase

Hi;
since I am so proud, I need to let you all know:
I fixed my Squeezebox Classic!
The issue was that the 3.3V Regulator which feeds 3.3V to the DAC was
broken.
I eliminated that regulator (boy are these SMD thingies tiny!) and fed
the 3.3V from the main regulator on the PCB to the DAC.
This might not be the high end solution, since the DAC spec-sheet says:
"It is recommended to derive the 3.3V from the 5V source for analog
signal processing", but I still got it to work!
Me so happy.
(I failed in the beginning w/ the same approach as I 'cut' the 3.3V
printed wire at the wrong point it's hard to tell IF YOU HAVE NO
CIRCUIT SCHEMATICS..)

Does anybody know were one can order SMD Parts like this regulator
(package label 'L33 B' -> zxcl260) where I do not need to purchase 1
of these or pay 30 bucks shipping???

And: I am still interested, if anyone can share the circuit schematics
of the SB3

All the best,
Heiner

Something is amiss on your system or network, no such switch is needed.
Sure LMS has your MySB credentials? Something keeping LMS from seeing
MySB? Tried rebooting router and/or server?

[slim] Internet Radio - switch to different library?

2012-09-23 Thread castalla

My Touch is connected to LMS.

Today, for the first time in months, I selected Internet Radio, then
Talk - this throws up an info screen saying the device has to switch to
mysb.com. All other options such as Music just show a list of
stations, or subgroups.

Is this a new feature, or has Talk always switched away to mysb.com?
