Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
Hi there, added a new thread for the FAQ here http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?98653-Community-Squeeze-FAQ&p=745856#post745856 so not to dilute this thread. Also added a revision number, last updated date and numbers to the FAQ to make it easier to maintain, Regards CW Chunkywizard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25868 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Pre-Announcement: ickStream Music Platform
And all I'm saying is awful is in the eye of the beholder. As an Antipodean, English as a first language speaker, I don't see a problem with it whatsoever, the negative connotations are pretty benign. More important than that it's catchy and obviously appealing to non English speakers! :-) kiwibrucie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31674 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98467 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
Hi Johna, the DAC board that is being developed is a carrier card for the Wandboard CPU card at the moment (SWAMP0.5 and CSP1). It is still undecided whether the CPU card will be used on the 'release' version of the DAC board (CSP2 ie the non-beta version) comes out, but that is a little bit off at the moment. The roadmap is still in definition. Basically, if you want to help in the development (or are using an external DAC) then a Wandboard is a good purchase. If you want to hold out for a product (rather than a kit) then you may not need the Wandboard. I have written an FAQ to cover this which John is checking and then hopefully it will be published and should answer some questions (without reading 90 pages of this thread), HTH CW Chunkywizard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25868 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] How to delete a Genre tag?
May set up a small folder of 3,4 albums to test if just a fresh scan will handle it. Don't see why not. Seems about what I did but mine was an album by album approach. Slow! I think it would still require localhost refresh but that takes little time. If I understand what you suggest it would be: Make changes in mp3tag Delete db musicip Add db to musicip Localhost refresh Rescan LMS Tried it on my work computer (small db) and seemed to work perfect. On the home computer I will now be able to make any changes in mp3tag, delete library, reinstall, localhost refresh, and rescan. Much faster and will save me lots of time. When I started using genre I really had no idea what I was doing and made so many mistakes. As I began to explore the possibilities of LMS and the numerous plugins I found that by using genres and Erland's SQL Playlist I could make playlist combining multiple genres of my choosing. This fit my wants to a T. Can now set a playlist that entertains me for hours. Just makes Squeezebox that much more functional for me. Still can't believe the failure of Logitech to understand the potential of what they had. Thanks again garym! Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
Is it wise to wait and not buy a dual wandboard? I heard another device was developped, with a DAC combined, is that correct? If so when will this be available? johan d's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=48838 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
Having committed myself to a squeezebox touch based infrastructure just before Logitech pulled the plug, I'm obviously very motivated for this to succeed. My main drive is ultimate audio excellence for my main system, where I use an Audiolab / Lakewest MDAC, but I also have SBT and Jogglers with SqueezeOS, in other rooms in the house. I can't really help on software development, as my Linux "skills" are rudimentary, and at present can't build any hardware, due to lack of time, and the fact I have plenty of devices at the moment, but as a future project, I'm really keen, if for no other reason that I'd like a unit that is more aesthetically compatible with my MDAC! So, I'd like to help, but can't really offer much in the soft and hard-ware departments. I may be useful in disseminating information, as I know my way around Word Press, so I could conceivably help set up, or maintain a web information portal if no-one else more qualified has offered. jemhayward's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55065 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
