(I have about 83,000 tracks/5,500 albums) With SC 0.9.6.1, in the search menu, there is a little symbol near the search box where it is possible to select a global Search or Local search. If you select Local search, it search only in your music library. If you select Global search, It ask where you want to search by proposing a list of possibilities (My Music, Deezer, ...). My configuration : Version : 7.5.5 - r32671 on a Linux ATOM D525. With +/- 2 Track with 2500 album it is instantaneous in SC. In the Web interface, if I put nothing in the search box, it doesn't make the search. So, I try with "a" : it give the result in less than 20 seconds (+/-3500 results). You can reduce the number of track to make a test and see if the problem is related to the number of track. Did you check the server LOG (increase the LEVEL if necessary ). Try different search and check the LOG. VLC for playing music on Ubuntu is straightforward and simple to use. I agree with Aubuti that Squeezeplay would be the best option though Logitech Media Server Version: 7.8.0 - 1372836728 @ Mon Jul 8 01:00:43 PDT 2013 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux Perl Version: 5.14.2 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) One SB Touch connected by ethernet - Denon AVR -1912 Receiver, Paradigm 4.1 speakers One SB Boom wireless One SB Radio wireless Logitech SB Classic (in Storage) Slimdevices Squeezebox 2 (in Storage) SlimChances's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=165 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99407 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The people using it will need to get their own wandboard, case and power supply, all these are readily available. A SBT supply will work fine. The most recent supplies that came with Touches are the supply we are recommending (a Phi Hong, but I don't remember the model number, it is in this thread) After the beta time the plan is that both a board by itself and a finished product with the above supply will be offered. The user is then free to try whatever 5V supply they wish. After the boards get built and in people's hands I'm sure there will be quite a few tests to determine how sensitve the design is to different supplies and what works well with it. John S. Has anyone else lost the WoL feature? For some reason SC will no longer wake my WHS box from standby, yet the Touch & Radios do as does the WHS Console Wake Server utility. rbz5416's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12089 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69352 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android
My LMS server (v7.7.1 on Windows 2008) hangs if I use the search option from Squeeze Commander. Search also hangs on the web interface if I try to do a global search (i.e. without specifying song search). I can work around this using the Logitech Android controller app by selecting "My Music", then "Songs" then "Search". This option isn't available in SqueezeCommander however. Is there a way of telling SqueezeCommander to do a song search to prevent the global search from causing the server to hang? Re: [slim] need help for linux transition
Hmmm, the others answered with suggestions for tagging programs, but it sounds to me that you are looking for a player that works on Linux. Is that right? If so, since you're on this forum and you play your own library, is it fair to assume you run LMS? If that's the case, then one simple solution is to use SqueezePlay on your Linux box. With SqueezePlay you can browse the music folder just like on a SB. I am sure there are other Linux-based players allow you to browse via file system, but I'd have to double-check before recommending one with certainty. aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99407 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
