Re: [slim] Squeezelite on a Raspberry Pi output to both 3.5 and I2S or HDMI same time? Possible?
gijosh28 wrote: Is it possible to configure any of the Pi players (squeezelite, squeezeslave, picoreplayer, squeezeplug, etc), to send the audio out both the 3.5mm jack and the HDMI, or the 3.5mm jack and the Hifiberry I2S DAC? You need to look at creating an ALSA config, specifically combining 2 hardware devices into one virtual device and using that virtual device as the squeezelite output device. Squeezeplay is also a 'controller'. Funny: the product for which Squeezeplay was initially developed was the Squeezebox Controller :-). No playback was built-in back then. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Now LastFM is proper dead, Spotify or Napster?
In the UK you can also use Deezer. It has better sound quality than Rhapsody/Napster, comparable to Spotify and it works on all SBs even without LMS running. [slim] SBT with 7.8.0 harddisk Rebuffering
After updating the firmware to 7.8.0 my Squeezebox Touch suddenly has hickups caused by Buffering. This never happened under 7.7.2 I do not use the LMS-software, it's not even installed on my computers. It's getting the music from a connected harddisk, so the problem is not caused by network delays The reason why I updated to 7.8.0 is because it often lost connection to the server (= harddisk) when I use an Android or Windows Phone app to select a new song. This problem still appears though not as frequent anymore, but the buffering problem is new. Does anyone know a way to solve this? Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
I've been testing out some different RCA jacks for CSP1. I have it down to 2 choices: 1: very robust mounting to the board, can withstand a lot of force for tight plugs, nickel plated brass. 2: gold plated brass but not as robust mechanical connection, may eventually have problems with tight plugs. Both have silver plated copper center contact, they both cost about the same and both take up the same amount of space on the board. Any preferences out there? Thanks, John S. pippin wrote: You are right about AirPlay but WRT Chromecast: I don't think anything other than Spotify Connect will allow you to not tether the device. The reason is that there's a DRM concept integrated into the streaming and only Spotify Connect supports that natively. Thanks for the explanation! I'm not giving up hope for the Chromecast. Rumor has it that they're working on an update.
