Through the TP no, never used it or owned one. Is the IR eye lighting up (some do blink red, some don't)? I prefer the ones that do blink red as it is at least another diagnostic point for troubleshooting. Does LMS require the special config files you mentioned earlier for this to work? I don't have a TP so I cannot see TP menus/options offered on LMS settings. toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105870 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Hi Toby, no it doesn't blink and I don't know if it's supposed to or not - I've read that a cellphone camera can detect IR so I tried and that didn't detect anything so am beginning to suspect either the plugin doesn't work or the cable is dodgy. Oh well - I can live without it but it would have been an nice to have thing. Thanks again. We can't stop here this is bat country. [slim] Turn off all devices
You know what would be a useful LMS feature or app? Something that would turn off all Squeezeboxen at a fixed time. I often get up in the morning to find I've left the Transporter and/or other devices on overnight, drawing power and using up their finite operating hours. Or that the Radio and Touch have exercised their tendency to turn themselves on. Be great if I could program something to turn off specified devices at a specified time. I'd have them all turn off at, say, 2am. If a popup could be created as a reminder of imminent power-down, appearing on control screens, that would be excellent. Undoubtedly possible only for smartphone apps, this latter, but I'd think the basic concept would be an easy LMS tweak. R. Re: [slim] Turn off all devices
There's very little difference between on and off with these devices. At best, it's the state of the display. Install the BlankSaver screensaver and that's the best you can do - to have the screens completely blank. Re: [slim] Turn off all devices
Yeah, these units are technically always on, even when off. And that actually bothers me a bit because they always run warm. It would be nice (in an off state) if there was less power coursing through the components. There is NO way to solve this - other than buying an device like 'this' (https://www.amazon.de/EnerGenie-EG-PM2-LAN-programmierbare-IP-Steckdosenleiste-LAN-Schnittstelle/dp/B00AACIHPS/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1468907697&sr=8-18) - but even these devices need power all the time.
