Re: [slim] Net::UDAP - SqueezeBox Receiver configuration tool
I'm sure that I'm just going insane from having no music where I'm working on this... but. I've got a Vortexbox (v2.3); I've always used the very first version of Net-UDAP (0.0.1) in my past, but haven't needed to use it on this vortexbox. Also, every bit of network gear in my home network has changed since I've used Net-UDAP last. OTOH: Pretty wide-open, the router/wap is running DD-WRT and so is the one repeater AP. I've tried to reach the duet both wirelessly and wired; the vortexbox from which I'm configuring things is wired. I just fumble-fingered in SqueezeCommander while trying to pull one my Duet Receiver into a new synchronization group, and it got lost. I tried a power cycle, but no good. I've got it in slow blinking red now but my "discover" fails entirely: doesn't even say BROADCAST ... I presume that means Net-UDAP can't open the socket it needs. So I figured I'd try to install 1.0.x. However, the "download in other format" links no longer exist on the Trac browser (in fact, the links all over the wiki now fail; there is no https://projects.robinbowes.com/Net-UDAP/trac/browser/branches/1.0.x . https://projects.robinbowes.com/Net-UDAP/trac/browser/Net-UDAP/branches/1.0.x appears to be what I'm looking for, though -- but, no download links I can see on that page.) So I used an svn client to pull the directory down to my mac and copied it to my vortexbox (there's no svn in the vortexbox repos and didn't want to start down that path if I didn't need to; I'm sure there's a way, but...). But the scripts all fail for problems with their @INC path; e.g., -bash-4.2$ ./scripts/udap_shell.pl Can't locate Pod/Usage.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /home/rec/net-udap-1.0.x/scripts/../src/Net-UDAP/lib /usr/local/lib/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 .) at ./scripts/udap_shell.pl line 33. which makes me think this path ends in CPAN hell. What's my best way out of the maze? Do I head down the route of figuring out if/why my vortexbox can't UDP in my network? Or get more modules installed? cobbr2's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7285 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57861 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I'll have a look. SoundCloud has been on and off in the past because LMS lacks https-support but I don't know whether this is the reason here --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102497 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The upgrade was from 7.8.x to 7.9.0 - but it's a completely new build, on a commercially supplied new appliance, so there will be a bunch of plugins enabled that I've never had before. Many seem enabled by default. Is there a list of 'hard core' or essential plugins, then I could disable the rest? Re: [slim] Synching issues in move from LMS 7.8 to 7.9
Thanks for the replies - apologies for the slow response myself, I've been working away. This "could be a coincidence" certainly. It's just that it follows months and months, if not years of trouble-free synching. The only thing that's changed is the new server and appliance. Obviously that's a major change. I actually don't have any wired players in the set-up. All wireless at the moment, and as I say, they've been wireless for a long time previously. The files are the same - transferred from the old vortexbox by the new appliance supplier - so there should be no change in the amount of data being transferred. So, there are a few constants: The players are the same, and in the same locations, connected to the same network; the router is the same, same location etc. the files (FLAC) are the same. However: LMS is different, and is located on a new 'Nova' appliance. Where I used to be able synch up to 5 players, I now sometimes struggle with 2. I have tried different combinations without getting any improved results. It does seem to me that the only way I'll get to the bottom of this is to throw some money at it (a new VDSL router £150) or a network switch and a bunch of long 10-15 metre network cables... Anything else I could look at before going down that road?? Re: [slim] Announcement - ickStream open beta release on Squeezebox !
I installed the ickStream plugin last week in order to give TIDAL a spin and it works great. However, while I am able to browse and search Soundcloud via the ickStream plugin, I have been unable to play anything from Soundcloud through the plugin. I can listen to Soundcloud tracks through my browser without a problem, though. Other internet radio streams work fine, too. I've removed and reinstalled the ickStream plugin, removed and rejoined Soundcloud from the ickStream web portal, and just updated my server to the latest nightly this morning. No joy. Again, TIDAL works like a charm through all of this. This is a Debian-based i386 server. Four players (two squeezelite, one boom, one classic), all via wired ethernet. Five active plugins: ickStream, MusicIP, Date and Time, Full text search, and save playlist. I'll paste here what I get in server.log. Would welcome any thoughts or suggestions. Great work on this plugin.
