Re: [slim] Squeezebox 3 common faults over time?

2017-01-05 Thread gorlando

I had the same problem posted by several people here and I decided to
follow the findings and replace C16 and C20.
I have used polarized capacitors 100uF / 25V since I had them at home,
the value of these capacitors is not critical, someone has simply
bypassed them and connected directly the DAC outlets to the analog RCA
sockets. The space is sufficient so I welded these large capacitors. The
SB-3 is now performing back as normal, nice sound and balanced channels
again!

Measuring the old capacitor I found they were in the range of 100 pF
instead of 10 uF!!

Thank you so much to this valuable
forum!218042180521807

Hi Michael. You were right!!!I had'nt untick that.Trying to make DSTM to
work I had uninstalled several plugins (random mix, auto rescan ,track
stat etc).
Guess what. DSTM appears to work!
When I start a track shortly after a new one appears from my hard disk
(not spotify as I had thought). I have tried spotify
recommendations,musicip and last mix.
Last mix picked up the most relevant choice.
Thank you, very much,indeed.
That is what appears at log, i do not know if bit is useful to know:

Cool.

I guess you disabled the Fulltext Search plugin and didn't run a rescan.
That could cause those missing strings warnings.

Re: [slim] A Final Goodbye and thanks to this amazing community

2017-01-05 Thread norderney

I am a very happy Transporter/iPeng user. My Transporter is now about 10
years old. Where did that time go? Seems like yesterday when I was
taking it out the box and installing it on my HiFi rack.
I have over 64,000 FLAC tracks stored on my server hard drive. I think
that alone would prevent me from moving to Sonos. I believe there is a
50,000 or 60,000 track limit on Sonos systems.
I've never really got into using the streaming services like Spotify.

Re: [slim] Audio Cross-fading

I've written my own workaround for this now, just a basic volume
down/volume up like when you were a kid and making mix tapes :) not
overly elegant but does the trick for what I need.

Thanks for your help

To each his own as they say...

Give Spotify or one of the other services a try. Those 64,000 tracks
are a drop in the bucket to what is available through streaming.

Re: [slim] A Final Goodbye and thanks to this amazing community

2017-01-05 Thread hagensieker

Whatever works for you is what is best for you:D I've thought a couple
times LMS had a foot in the grave. I almost bailed when MOG went bye
bye. I thought that was the beginning of the end. Then when the Triode
Spotify app seemed broken I just knew it was over.

Then Spotify got fixed and Tidal came along.

I'm happier than ever, but I get it, I really do.

I'm wondering if the LMS app will cover Tidal Master quality though.

I wrote a blog on my own page (which likely no one has ever saw :D) and
surmised that with everything having an app now that a server type
system wasn't really necessary. The blog was in regards to using
bluetooth speakers though..

Still every service I use has an app. At work where I don't have wifi I
plug my phone with unlimited data into my tube amp (yeah I have a tube
amp at work) and stream Spotify off of it.
