Re: [slim] Playlist Generator?

2018-01-15 Thread w3wilkes

Finally able to generate .m3u playlists that I can transfer and use on
another device. However, not using Erland's Playlist Generator plugin.
The Playlist Generator plugin should be banned from LMS on Windows 10 as
it locks up LMS to the point that LMS must be killed with Task Manager.

I have and use Erland's SQL Playlist / Dynamic Playlist plugins. With
the SQL Playlist plugin I use the same SQL script above to generate my
desired playlist. Set Music Limit to 500. Then in Dynamic Playlist I set
"Now Playing will show" to 500 Upcoming songs and leave "recently
played" blank. Click the "+" (plus) sign to the right of the playlist I
built in the SQL Playlist plugin which then loads the playlist into the
right frame of the WebUI and then click the "Save" icon in the bottom
right area of the WebUI. This puts the Playlist in the left hand pane
and has a box to fill in the playlist name and a Save button at the top
of the screen. Viola, I now have a .m3u playlist in my playlist
directory with all my songs of my selected BPM's and Genre's. With some
minor mass change editing to change the file locations from absolute to
relative and then I have a playlist I can transfer to my Sony Walkman to
take on my walk or run. Other than the root directory the
album/artist/songs structure are the same as on my LMS server.

A little convoluted to get there, but it's way easier than building
these type playlists manually!

Re: [slim] Squeezebox Classic failing

2018-01-15 Thread alfista

The two most common problems with SB3, by far, seems to be WiFi boards
and power supplies losing steam.
You can find decent aftermarket PSUs with the right connector from China
for "peanuts", and if you can run wired then you can just remove the
WiFi board.
Either of those fixes seem to revive the majority of SB3s.
If you have a Touch you can try with that PSU, it should work, or maybe
someone you know have a SB you can borrow a PSU from and see if it
helps.

[slim] Squeezebox Classic failing

2018-01-15 Thread d6jg

Just looking for advice as to whether anyone else has seen the same
symptoms.

My Living Room SB3/Classic has started to sporaically lose connection to
the server whether on ethernet or wifi. Screen flashes briefly "Can't
connect to server" and then generally immediately reconnects. It isn't
network related as I hasve other kit in the same location connected via
the same switch (when wired) and same wifi access point (when wireless)
and they don't lose connection like this. I have replaced the power
supply but symptoms still persist.

I have Pi based altenatives that I can install there but before I do
just wondering has anyone else experienced this sort of issue? Is my
trusty SB3 on its last legs?

Re: [slim] Mac OS, Squeezelite, Radio Paradise flac problem

2018-01-15 Thread Man in a van

I have tried playing through Squeezelite using the MacBookPro internal
speakers and Spotify works, the BBC Listen live streams work and so does
Radio Paradise 320 stream.

JB-R2 and fip do not work.

A line from the log states

Just to add that if I go to the respective Radio Station web pages
(JB-R2,fip,BBC) that the streams play through the default USB dac.

[slim] Mac OS, Squeezelite, Radio Paradise flac problem

2018-01-15 Thread Man in a van

At the weekend I spent most of my time struggling with a Mac Mini
running Yosemite.

I installed LMS (the latest v7.9.1 nightly) and used it to control a pi,
SBTouch, Boom and SBRadio.

Radio Paradise flac played through them all.

I then installed the “Local Player” plug-in and configured the Mini
output for the USB dac I wished to use (NorthStar Essensio).

I tested the output with the BBC Radio Player and the dac played every
channel I tried without a problem.

I switched to LMS, selected Squeezelite, configured the output and tried
a few different streams.

Radio Paradise 320 stream was OK and so were the BBC live streams.

FIP and JB-Radio2 would not play on the NorthStar but would play on the
SBT, Boom, etc.

The Radio Paradise flac also refused to play on the Northstar.

This morning I tried to repeat the exercise on a MacBookPro (13” Mid
2012) running El Capitan (v10.11.6).

Used a different dac, (iFi, 24397by AMR, HD USB
Audio).

Same result, Radio stations played on a SBRadio but not via the USB Dac.

Is it a Squeezelite problem?

I would like to install Ralphy’s latest Squeezelite but would need
somebody to give me a “how to”.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ronnie

I hope the attached file is sufficient.

Can you tell me which option you used (there seems to be 5 in LMS 7.9) ?
I think I've tried them all but nothing seems to have changed.
On LMS 7.7 you could simply tap a song to play it without being asked
about where to add to a playlist, or play next etc. When the track
finished playing it would simply start playing the next one (from a
playlist or an album for examle).

I want to keep this old functionality without an additional menu keep
popping up.

Hope you can help.
Thanks

My router is forwarding all incoming on port 22 to the music server
where there is an SSH server, so that matches what you say.
