I did add these after I had problems. I've just removed them both but
still have the same issue.

Any other suggestions?

This the latest server log. The zip file doesn't contain that much
weirdly

Have you tried updating LMS?

Re: [slim] LMS AAC/M4A gapless

2018-03-11 Thread atrocity

I noticed non-gaplessness with AAC a few months back and found that the
problem only occurred with synced players. Streaming to a single player
worked fine.

As others have pointed out the issues with M4A file layout, I'll mention
that recent versions of Foobar2000 have an option under utilities to
optimize the file layout. Not sure if that will help you, but in my
experience it doesn't hurt anything.

[slim] Yet Another Volume Issue With a Squeezebox 3

2018-03-11 Thread satkinsn

All -

Got up this morning to the right channel on my SB3 significantly quieter
than the left. After quick troubleshooting and a look here, I see it's a
known problem, requiring the replacement of some caps. (The SB3 is at
least a decade old.)

But I also have an old SPDIF DAC, so I dug it out, hooked up the TOSLINK
connection and was back in business. Sounds fine to my antique ears.

So is there any reason at all to fix the analog outs, other than a
compulsive need to have everything in spec?

s.

[slim] What to do

2018-03-11 Thread moosetracks555

My duet has slowly faded out of use due to the connivence factor of all
the other tech we have. However, I have a couple rooms with in wall
speakers I’d like to put to use to play music with.

The things we use are music off our iPhones, pandora, sound cloud and
amazon music. We have several Alexa devices and one google home. I
tried to use the Chromecast Audio but it seems like you had to have
premium subscriptions to be able to play that way.

The speakers are all ran to a closet downstairs. If I could get The
Alexa devices to connect to the speakers as her output everyone would be
happy. I do have coax and cat5 to each room but don’t know if it’s
possible to send the audio output of the echo over 50 feet.

The other option would be to get the iPhone to connect with the
speakers. Again the amplifier is 50 feet away and not every app has a
way to cast what you want to play.

I have read about the pi projects and there are so many different
options but I don’t know what would do what I wanted. For instance can
Alexa control it. Do they play pandora sound cloud amazon music and
Apple Music?

Does anyone have their 2 cents to chip in?

Please enable logging for plugin.spotty. Play with it, grab the log file
(and yes, you should try to figure out why that zip file is almost empty).

Also: what does Settings/Advanced/Spotty report wrt. to the helper being
used?
