Re: [slim] Commercial players that work off LMS?
Thanks. Good to know there are other options than trying to hunt down another SB Boom secondhand. What do people think is better general term, including future proofing, between going the wireless speaker plus Chomecast with plugin (say of JBL Playlist) and a used Boom. Both are about the same price? chopinhauer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32453 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109226 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Which Streaming Music Service works best for You and your system?
Spotify had the ability to create folders within playlists. So, for example, I can setup a playlist in Spotify as a genre of music, say acoustic-rock. Then I can go into that folder and setup different playlists. Deezer has only flat playlists. Unfortunately Spotify does not expose those folders in their APIs. Which means that we cannot browse playlists by folders on the SB. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Which Streaming Music Service works best for You and your system?
The main thing that I like about deezer, apart from the fact that it works well with LMS, is that the download speeds are very good; at least to me. There is a noticeable difference in downloading the local copy of an album to my phone, for example. Really much faster. I don't know why. Deezer also seems to improve their service to my liking. About the only thing that I dislike about Deezer that I had in Spotify is that Spotify had the ability to create folders within playlists. Spotify daily. I don't know what I'd do without it. 1 Touch 2 Receivers 1 Controller 2 Radios FredFredrickson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16584 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109230 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

( I have a few of these as well). You will need to install Phillipe's Castbridge plugin into LMS which detects and turns a Google Chromecast device (incl Speakers) into an SB player which you control like any other SB player. Limited to 24/96 and won't sync with your Boom but otherwise works perfectly.
