[slim] Respecting the heritage!
My newly acquired SliMP3 arrived today - what a thing of beauty! [image: http://www.cjh.me.uk/MyPhotobucket/cache/DIYHifi/SliMP3_640.jpg] I've wanted one of these for a while, so jumped in when this one came up on eBay. It wasn't an instant 'plug and play' addition. It goes to show how things have moved on in what seems like such a short time. - No wireless, so I had to find an ethernet cable and a spare socket in a nearby switch - This thing only plays MP3s, so I had to install Lame on my pCP server (one click!) - The only outputs are single ended RCA/cinch. My amp has been in use for almost a year, and in that time I've never used the analogue inputs - not even tested them till tonight. And they're balanced, so I needed to dig out my adapter cables. Apart from that - plain sailing! Objectively it's not a patch on a pCP RPi with a Joggler screen running Jivelite, but I love it.
