Just checked (material skin) and Guilt - The Soundtrack isn't there for
me now.

Tried to check on Default skin, but It's having a sulk again and doesn't
show Radio items or Apps :(

Restarted LMS and Apps are back, and Guilt - The Soundtrack isn't there

you say it is no longer listed in the much maligned BBC Sounds app
either. (I noticed the other day that the BBC Sounds app stops playing
after around 10 minutes with an error, the old iPlayer never did
that.)[image:

No. standard LMS transcoding of AAC is all that is required.

What version of the plugins are you using ?
Are *both* preferences in BBCiPlayer settings set to DASH > HLS > MP3 >
FlashAAC

all BBCiPlayer programmes
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/a-z/by/g/player?page=4 currently
holding 5,619,290 programmes.

True dat, I hate my tech reviews, where are the reliable ones ? This
got great reviews when it came out, it's been nothing but a slow mess
since I got it. Synology has a good OS and I suppose you can get them
with good CPUs, this one has "hardware transcoding" which was what sold
me because I was supposed to use it to store my video library, it's
never been usable for that purpose, basically no files need transcoding
anyway I've discovered. The processor is called "Evansport" and
Synology's own Video Station and, unusually, an independent port of
Serviio can use the HW transcoding ability, however, since the ram is so
small and everything runs so slow it's useless. And I paid 2500E+ for
the thing! (including the disks, which are okay I guess, I could get a
new NAS and reuse the disks). The only thing is good for is as data
storage for SBCs, i'm so glad I discovered them.

"Maximum" means that LMS' database cache is set to grow to a maximum of
500MB.

No, it's basically unlimited.

Why isn't there a normal Synology package repository/ advice about the
update showing up in package centre like with other packages!

Synology doesn't allow me to push LmsUpdate to the Package Center.

Would you be able to include a Slim/Utils/OS/Custom.pm file? This then
could use LMS own update check mechanism in some way.

I get this on BBC iPlayerExtra as well.

What OS does your LMS run on?

In Windows you have the little "LogiTech Media Server" App. Open as
administrator, so as you please.

In Linux you stop/start the service via the terminal, is "sudo service
squeezeboxserver start" or "stop".

I find it suggests to restart itself when it needs to well enough. I
never start/stop other than that.

[slim] Tidal missing search results + more

2019-11-17 Thread echable

I was extremely happy with discovering Logitech Media Server and see
that all the music services I use are there in the same interface.
However, I'm noticing more and more missing, from Tidal specifically,
which I really on extensively.

My mixes is missing. This was a crucial way I used to discover new
music.

Second, you seemingly can't (or can you ?) add a track playing from
Tidal as a Tidal favorite, thereby forming a basis for "My mixes" etc.

Third, and worst of all, search results in LMS are severely lacking. For
example, do a general Tidal search in LMS for timba artist Maykel
Blanco. LMS returns two albums "Soy lo que the hala" and "A toda
maquina", plus a few compilations albums where the artist has a song.

Searching on tidal.com or with Tidal through BubbleUpNp app gives the
full list of the seven Maykel Blanco albums thatt are released.

Any chance of fixing this ? Is there a setting somewhere for how long
LMS spends searching a specific source that could be extended and maybe
fix these problems ?

Where could I reach the Tidal plugin developer ?

Thank you.
