as a reformed sometimes frustrated receiver owner, I would agree. If you
have a controllerfor each receiver...

press and hold the receiver button until it flashes red. power off
controller, then hold "+" when you power back on. Then go to the
process, it really doesn't take long, especially when you have alot of
practice :)

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111743-stuck-on-scanning-for-players&p=966391&viewfull=1#post966391

seriously, when my receivers "disappeared" from the player list, this is
how I brought them back. The only thing tedious is entering the network
password with the scroll wheel

I assume it's the same as you did with the Touch.
Using a controller (or your Touch), select one of your receivers and
select "My Music".

You'll need to use the controller, not sure how, I no longer have one.

The Touch could not connect to the NAS server (it is dead).
It offered Switch Library which I selected.
I tried connecting to the piCoreLMS and on first try, it failed.
I did "Try again" and it did connect.
The Touch is now playing. Sounds good.
The Touch now shows on the player dropdown.
Great progress!

Do you have a suggestion for connecting to the Logitech Duet Receivers?

First, I REALLY appreciate the advice from all of you.

piCore is now running on the 4B 8GB.
I can access it on a PC on the same network and have done the media scan
of the 931 GB SSD on the Pi's USB. (screenshot attached)
The scan was less than half the time required on the Synology NAS.

Unfortunately, the seven Logitech players are NOT found.
I can successfully ping each player from the PC that is accessing the
piCore server.

Can anyone suggest steps to recognize the players?

Mine shows mono option for DAC32, Boom, Transporter, Touch and Radio.
Server version is 8.2 April 25, but it was there on earlier version.
Running server on Win10 if that makes a difference.

Is there anything I can do to "turn on" the Both Channels (Mono) option

I have a Tivoli PAL and have been using a RCA to 3.5mm from a SB
Receiver for many years with no problem. I don't use any Stereo/Mono
setting and it sounds OK.

The volume level of both SB player and Tivoli volume control might
affect quality. I think the "best" level for each depend on which
control you'll actually be varying - LMS player control or Tivol volume
control

Prefectly reasonable to connect the DAC32 to your radio via the aux

[slim] Streaming to an old Tivoli Model One radio...

2021-04-28 Thread radish112

Hi.

I've got an old Tivoli Model One radio that, due to the geography of
where I live, gets very poor reception from AM and FM stations. So I'm
repurposing the radio to play tunes and radio stations from my LMS
library via my newly-purchased DAC32 streamer.

The DAC32 streamer is connected to the radio's AUX IN socket via an RCA
to 3.5mm cable. The audio quality is pretty good given what this
mono-only radio is cable of.

I have two questions:

1. Is there any reason why connecting the streamer to the radio is
inadvisable (I assume not, otherwise why would an RCA to 3.5mm cable
exist?)

2. Given that the radio can produce only mono output, do you have any
suggestions as to how I might improve the sound (e.g., LMS settings of
some sort)?

Thanks for any help and advice!

Re: [slim] Live Music Archive

2021-04-28 Thread Paul Webster

The do have their own RSS feeds .. perhaps it is this that mysqueezebox
imports and then reprocesses.

For example - try adding this to LMS podcast app
https://archive.org/services/collection-rss.php?collection=etree&year=2021&subject=Live+concert
Note - this is ordered by date uploaded to LMA not the date of the
concert.

There is a query builder on their site
https://archive.org/advancedsearch.php#raw

Right now there is a plugin bundled with LMS but it is simply a shim to
mysqueezebox RSS feeds.

How about moving the LMA code out of mysqueezebox and putting it in LMS
as a full function plugin which would then let other people have a go at
fixing it?
