Re: [slim] Windows sleep while LMS is running -- let's save some electricity!
I fear I'm failing to see the point. LMS is a service that needs to be listening in order for a client to be able to connect to it. If the system goes to sleep the service won't be able to respond and consequently will also not cause the system to return to normal operation. Of course, should you have specific time frames when LMS is accessed you could use a combination of a scheduled system shutdown and a timer switch. Seems a lot of trouble though considering that you can run a Pi for like a full week before reaching 1 kWh usage. You'll save a lot more watching 1 hour less TV every day. gordonb3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116124 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Is this an Ethernet connection to the PC? If so, is network traffic between the player and LMS keeping the PC awake, perhaps? Have a look at the properties for the network adaptor and see if it can wake up (or keep awake) the PC, and either disable that or tell it only to respond to a Wake-on-LAN (WoL) packet. Then see if it will sleep with the player connected. I don't think this change requires a reboot, but it wouldn't do any harm. stevebaggs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62476 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116124 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I had wife in there twice, but only saw and corrected one, at first. I laughed. I'd like to think it wasn't my subconscious peaking through. Squeeze Control seems to see the server, see below. 37494 Since that is the actual name I've given it, all should be well. Re: [slim] Reconnecting to PiCore
Further to the above, LMS IS running and I am able to connect to it through the PcP interface at the relevant IP address (which was changed slightly). This is through an ethernet connection. Wifi is working fine, my mobile is connected to it. But it seems that Squeeze Control is not able to connect to the server for some reason, perhaps because it is trying the wrong IP address. But I can't make it find the right address. It could be an issue with Squeeze Control, or it could be something else, now sure what. R.
