Have also searched the forum for any information about Matter and
Squeeze and couldn't find anything.
This looks promising indeed.

Yes, since these will have nice acrylic cases (?) largest display that
fits in case, just the 2 line display? Or color?

Is there anything additionally we need to purchase?

Power supply?

There was a short thread on this recently - but I wasn't able to find it
again quickly.

The specifications are available for download after registering.

Media support is in it but I have not checked the details and, so far, I
have not seen any media players being controlled.
In theory, it could mean that, if LMS was able to act as a client/proxy
then the Squeezebox devices could be controlled by Alexa/Google Home etc
without requiring additional plugins or port forwarding etc.

[slim] Matter protocol and Squeezebox/LMS

2022-11-06 Thread didjean

Seems that Matter protocol will help standardise the home automation.

Any opportunities for our beloved Squeezebox ecosystem?

Sonos has joined as well:

It really depends what you want. You can have tiny displays that fits
inside the case, like 2 lines of 128 chars, or very large 5', B or
grayscale, of have color screens 240x320 to have the artwork
