Re: [slim] New modified SqueezeAMP batch?
Just a heads-up that I've almost shipped all my SqueezeAMPs. I have ~5 Basic left, no Boost (to my surprise). If you are interested, let me know because I'll be away until end of January starting next week. I know I've said that a couple of times, but it is more and more likely the last batch. Some parts are close to end-of life or are being incredibly difficult to find and I'm also close to run out of things like cases, cables, switches... I might do a last batch of ~20 but I'm not sure when, if ever. LMS 8.2 on Odroid-C4 - *SqueezeAMP!*, 5xRadio, 5xBoom, 2xDuet, 1xTouch, 1xSB3. Sonos PLAY:3, PLAY:5, Marantz NR1603, Foobar2000, ShairPortW, 2xChromecast Audio, Chromecast v1 and v2, Squeezelite on Pi, Yamaha WX-010, AppleTV 4, Airport Express, GGMM E5, RivaArena 1 & 3 philippe_44's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17261 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116084 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I would suggest looking into the Max2Play distribution. Been using it for 6+ years. Check it out 'here' (https://www.max2play.com/en/). @kitus Don't forget there are other audio distributions to try. Or, you can load squeezelite and LMS onto Raspberry Pi OS (other another version of Linux). I have very little expertise; I'm just a user of LMS who likes to tiniker. There is a very good chance that everything I say will turn out to be wrong! Philosophically, I think starting anew makes sense, but you do not have to ditch entirely the current setup in order to do so. Just set the current SD card aside and start over with a fresh SD card. You can always go back to the current one if the second attempt does not work out. You are a lot more familiar with pCP now than when you first set it up, so it is possible that you misunderstood or overlooked something then. Is it likely? I don't know, but it should be easy to try. I have one suggestion for you. As I said, it is not based on any personal experience, so it may not be helpful. In the pCP (not LMS) web interface, go to the Squeezelite Settings tab. About halfway down the page there is a field for "Close output setting." Put some value in that field and click the "Save" button below. This will tell Squeezelite to release the output device after a number of seconds (the value you put in the field) of silence. This is intended to allow Squeezelite to share the output device with other players, instead of keeping it locked when not in use. It is not intended to help with your situation, and it may not. But since it does require Squeezelite to reconnect with the output device when it is used again, I think it might be worth a try. I hope I am not wasting your time with this suggestion, although that may well be the case. Good luck! Incidentally, you may already be aware of this, but just in case it might be helpful to know that Squeezelite is not a commercial product. No one is paid to maintain it. When work is done on it, it is done in spare time, as available. You may not see signs of progress, especially if it is not clear that the problem is within Squeezelite. Usually running latest beta LMS nightly on Raspberry Pi OS with virtual players (Squeezelite and Airplay bridge). Occasionally using SB Radio, Boom or Classic. [slim] In love with SqueezeLite and LMS. Frustrated at the same time.
Hello, I'm posting this message here hoping to find some guidance to stabilise my setup a bit. I'm not running any particularly complex setup: - Raspberry Pi 3B+ - 16GB generic SD card - USB DAC I'm on the latest version of pCP and LMS. One of my problems is described 'here' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113661-Start-restart-squeezelite-when-plug-in-USB-dac=1066509=1#post1066509). This situation is annoying to the point that every time I intend to play some music, my experience is not what I would like it to be: power on my DAC and Amp, grab my phone, launch LMS and off my music goes. No. I always need to reach for my smartphone or PC and either restart or reboot pCP, restart LMS, or both. This typically solves the problem and I can get on with my audition. I'm currently trying a component that somebody kindly shared with the community, but as you can see in that thread, I'm still having issues on which I can't still put my finger. On this previous problem, note that I created an issue in GitHub 'here' (https://github.com/ralph-irving/squeezelite/issues/173), but I don't see any progress on the GitHub case at this stage. One other issue that I'm experiencing is my DAC 'is not 100% friends' (https://github.com/ralph-irving/squeezelite/issues/172) with pCP. I opened an issue in GitHub, but so far nobody seems to be looking into my case. Adding on to the pCP+LMS issues that I'm experiencing, when I add my DAC to the picture, things get worse as a result of the added new moving part. I also have one other issue which is less important in comparison with the other issues above, but it is pretty annoying. I've learnt to live with it and I don't use Spotify Connect these days. More information 'here' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112254-Spotify-authentication-with-Spotty-failure=1065744=1#post1065744). Spotify Connect won't play well with my setup. It is constantly out of sync. And today I noticed that the user interface is acting up with files stored on a my USB thumb drive hooked up to the RPI: regardless of which song I chose earlier today, user interface would keep displaying the same song from that album that I had selected. I truly think pCP + LMS is a very very attractive and enticing solution. I really want to get it seamlessly working in my workflow and with my current setup. I wonder if I may have made some mistake during the initial setup, when portioning the system whatsoever, and I have started to consider to ditch my current setup and start anew with a vanilla pCP. Could somebody help me stabilise my system? Should I start anew? I thank you all in advance! kitus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=73121 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117179 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] PiCore running on a 3B+ using 5ghz wifi
It sounds like the RaspPi 3B+ supports 5ghz wifi. Is there any trick to make this connection? I run both 2.4 and 5ghz in my home. For some reason I don't seem to be able to connect my Pi's running PiCorePlayer to my 5ghz network. I'm assuming I'm just doing something wrong?! Any idea where to start?
