Re: [slim] Browse Artists broken in 6.2.1
Hi, Try the following Server Settings:Behaviour:Common Album Titles Check the box. Add the appropriate name(s) in. You may think that this doesn't help. You may need to tag all you mp3s with noalbumdata then add that to the list in the server settings. This may not be the answer that you are looking for but it works well for me. I beleive the behaviour you are refering to was changed to reflect the efforts of the Compliations section. ChriS - Original Message - From: Mark Lanctot [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: discuss@lists.slimdevices.com Sent: Saturday, November 19, 2005 12:35 AM Subject: [slim] Browse Artists broken in 6.2.1 I upgraded to 6.2.1 tonight from 6.1.1. Everything went very smoothly. I'm not having recanning problems and things seemed to be going OK. However my Browse Artists function does not appear to be working properly anymore. For example, let's say I want to see songs by Nirvana: Browse Artists. OK. Select N from list. OK. Select Nirvana. OK. 1 album with 11 songs by 1 artist. I don't use Album tags, so that's OK too. Link shows No album as it did before. When I click the link, 6.1.1 used to bring up a list of the 11 songs. Now when I click the link it shows all songs with No Album, instead of Nirvana songs with no album. I realize not using the album tag goes against convention, but I don't have any use for it, and it's far too late now. Is this the intended functionality? I used to get all Nirvana songs with no album, which was what I was looking for, but now I get all songs with no album, which is nearly my entire collection and is completely useless. The tree at the top says: Home / Browse Artists / Nirvana / No Album but this is not what I'm seeing at all, I'm seeing more like Browse Artists / No Album. The artist doesn't even figure into it anymore. I have rescanned twice, once by clearing the library and rescanning. No effect. I can play all Nirvana songs by selecting the add to playlist button when Nirvana / No Album is displayed, but this isn't exactly what I want to do because then I have to remove unwanted items from the player playlist. I'd rather add them in one at a time like I used to be able to. Any ideas? Bug or ID10T error? RE: [slim] 6.0 problem - playlist stops frequently at track boundaries
Is this during sync between the SB1 and SS2? I've seen similar in 6b3 and haven't had a chance to give the final a good shakedown. But what I was seeing was all sorts of problems (which I can further post as I revisit Final 6) do to with Syncing between a Slimp3 and SS2. I'm getting frequent 'stops' using 6.0 whether on SS2 or SB1s. Tracks will play for a while and then the playlist will stop and i'll need to hit pause to restart. It always happens at a track boundary - eg track 9 will end, the title of track 10 will show but it wont play until i hit pause. Anyone else? (BTW, i am very impressed by 6.0 generally - the search is vastly improved and really quick) ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
RE: [slim] Chipmunks are back!
Using same RPM on URLWizter 1.99 (199.iso). SoftSqueeze run on a Windows XP Pro box as well. Using slimserver-03-26-1.noarch.rpm, Fedora Core 2, kernel 770. Listening to internet radio with softsqueeze (2.0b1 came with 3/26 nightly) and I heard chipmunks. Listening to the same station via squeezebox does not exhibit the same behavior (it plays normally). I've got Java Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_02-b09) with the mp3 plug-in on Windows XP Pro. I'm not sure what other info is needed. Looking forward to Monday's release!
