Hi Ralphy- I tried deleting that line of code and rebuilding but the error persists. Very strange indeed. At one point I was receiving FLAC decoding errors in the terminal window while streaming tunes through iPeng which is funny since none of my music is in FLAC format. The major issue, in the end, was bouncing from track to track on iPeng - it would consistently crash / hang the squeezeslave app. Downgrading the Squeezeserver to v. 7.3.4 seems to have remedied the issue. I know there are other posts that allude to 7.4.1 / squeezeslave issues and I would have to agree with what others have said. The tinkering was very basic - essentially learning how to optimize the Squeezeserver / Squeezeslave interaction (things like turning the volume up on the Squeezeserve in the player window, in which the default setting was "1" - doh!) After some tinkering, this appears to be working. Although I still get those error messages upon starting squeezeslave. ...and I should also add there's no sound coming from the PS3. There were some clicks when I first established the connection and started playing files but then absolute silence. Not long ago I started experiencing sound issues at startup (the usual Ubuntu login sound would not play - it used to just after install, but not anymore). I just compiled squeezeslave for my PS3 running Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) using the current Google code files (squeezeslave-lnx26-ppc-alsa) and I get the following errors upon starting squeezeslave and establishing the connection to the XP PC running Squeezebox Server 7.4.1 Expression 'ret' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c', line: 1026 Expression 'AlsaOpen( hostApi, parameters, streamDir, &pcm )' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c', line: 1058 Any thoughts?
