Re: [slim] Squeezebox 3 + Apple Time Capsule + Wireless = no love?

2008-03-21 Thread Claudius

Only way I could get it to work was to use a hardwired ethernet
connection for the SB3, wireless won't work. Then set an IP in the SB3
menu outside the IP range of the wireless IPs assigned on the Time
Capsule. My Slimserver is set up the same. But it works again thank
goodness. It really should work with APPLEs DHCP assignment, that is a
problem.

Re: [slim] Squeezebox 3 + Apple Time Capsule + Wireless = no love?

2008-03-21 Thread Claudius

Correct. I have the same problem SB3 will not pick up an IP address. I
has nothing to do with making the server a static. My server is already
a static IP, but until the SB3 gets an IP address, it won't see it. I
even tried it hard wired it still won't be recognized by Time Capsule.

[slim] Re: Music location

2006-10-06 Thread Claudius

Hey you guys were right, it works. All I had to do was create a shortcut
for each top level genre folder and it drilled down for sure. Thanks
for the replies.

[slim] Music location

2006-10-05 Thread Claudius

I purchased an SB3 after owning a couple of Audiotrons. Love the SB3
but:

Running SLimserver 6.5 on Windows XP
My music is organized by Genre/Artist/Album/# Title on a network drive.
The Audiotrons need only be pointed to the Genre folder and it drills
down and finds all music.

I have no interest in copying all my music into one folder. I found
out I can create a shortcut in my music folder pointing to the ablum
folder. But I can't possibly create a shortcut for EVERY Album. Is
this a shortcoming of Slimserver? Is there no way for it to parse down
directory levels and find your music without creating a shortcut for
every folder or dumping everything into one folder?

If this is the case, this isn't going to work? Thanks....
