Re: [slim] Recent Problems with Duet Controller

2008-11-04 Thread HUEY

Problem seems to be fixed. When I went to use the controller last
night, said an update was available, and now is working as it should.

No answers or suggestions, but my controller started acting just as
yours after the upgrade last night to 7.2.1. Could not use it to
navigate at all.

Re: [slim] Gapless playback

Turns out it was because the units were sync'd. All is well now.
Thanks for the help.

Re: [slim] Gapless playback

2008-10-09 Thread HUEY

After doing a search, which is what I should have done in the first
place, I see that sync'd players will have a gap. I'm running a sb3 as
the main unit, and duet receiver upstairs, and I might have them sync'd
up. BTW, Most of my recordings are either flac(majority) or mp3's.

Re: [slim] Duet remote with classic device

Yes the duet remote will control the Squeezebox classic. In
actualality, it is controlling squeezecenter on the computer, but it
does it quite well.

[slim] Gapless playback

2008-10-09 Thread HUEY

I've noticed recently a slight gap between continuous songs on an album.
They used to play seemlessly, and now there is a slight gap between
songs. I've looked at my settings and nothing seems to have changed.

Yes, there are two hops, but it has been that way from the beginning
with virtualy no problems. I know it isn't the best way, but it has
seem to work so far.

[slim] Problems after router reset

2008-09-25 Thread HUEY

I have had a duet for about 3 months now, and recently added a SB3 into
the mix. My Linksys A/G wireless router needed a factory reset, and
I've had nothing but problems with the sb3 since then.

Little overview of my setup: I have a wireless usb adapter at the
computer, the wireless router at the dsl connection, and 4 wireless
devices, although at the most only two of them are active. This has
worked almost flawlessly with the squeeze units.

After reconfiguring the router for security, I first turned on the duet
receiver in the bedroom, which is also the same room that the router is
in. It had some stuttering, so I tried a different channel, and it
worked like it should.

I then tried the SB3, which is downstairs, and probably closer to the
router than the duet receiver, but it does have a floor between them.
No matter what I did, I could not get it to play without dropouts. I
ended up hooking up my wireless A/G gaming adapter that I have, doing a
reset so that I could select ethernet, and finally got it working that
way.

The one thing that I have noticed that is different, is the wireless
icon in the windows shows a connection speed ranging from 48-54 mbps.
Before the reset of the router, and after adding the Squeeze units, it
was running in the 24-36 mbps, which I always figured the router was
managing connection speeds to optimize bandwidth for all devices.
Again, at those speeds, everything worked flawlessly.

Any suggestions? I've tried different channels on the g network, but
nothing seemed to make a difference.

Re: [slim] SBC: "Now Playing" Wrong - Not Refreshing

It's happened to me a couple of times. I just turn the SB controller
off from the advanced settings menu, and then restart. Seems to solve
the problem.

[slim] One bug, one feature request

2008-07-14 Thread HUEY

Not sure if this is the area stuff like this is supposed to be posted
in, if not feel free to move.

First the bug. When clicking on now playing, which takes you to the
large album screen, and then clicking again, it lists everything in
that album/playlist that will play, which you can navigate using the
scroll wheel. If I go to internet radio, and then back to the media
library, and then to the now playling playlist, the scroll becomes non
functional in that area. The only to get it to work again, is to
shutdown the controller from the advanced area, and turn it back on
again. Minor problem, but figured I would bring it up.

My feature request would be, when playing an album, not in the now
playing area, but from the album/artist/genre etc area, that if you
pull up the list of songs and hit playall, if you scroll down to a
favorite song, it either, depending on your settings, continues in a
repeat of that song, or stops playing all together. I would like to
see it continue on to the next song.

I'm coming from streaming to an xbox 360, so I'm use to scrolling and
not having it locked to the song you choose. So far I'm very happy
with the Duet, and would just like to see a few things tweaked.
