During the last few days I have deleted all the music from the Windows Home Server and then put it all back on there from my backup. The six dodgy tracks that I had have been erased and the streaming to the Squeezebox now seems much, much better in random. So far since doing this there have been just a few glitches.. but as I am writing this one of those glitches has just come up, don't know if it is coincidence or not but it always seems to be on track 9 on random. Phil, I'm running version 7.3.2 of Squeezecenter at the moment. So the Flac decoder within Squeezecenter is checking the integrity of the files if I understand you correctly. Perhaps the boffins at Logitech could relax this checking slightly as so many people after reding these forums seem to be having the same problems? Did a test on all the Flac files (about 4000)on the Windows Home Server last night using Audiotester, picked up six tracks that were faulty. The AC\DC track was obviously one of them. Also checked quite a few using Flac Frontend and they passed. I will try erasing all tracks on the server and reinstate from my backup drive (which I have also tested )to see if that makes a difference. As you have mentioned, dropouts can be heard at two points in the AC\DC track but Foobar does continue playing the track otherwise. If there are only six tracks that are faulty why does Squeezecenter continually stop when playing a random mix? Coincidentally it does always seem to be around the eighth track in the playlist. There are two tracks in the log file, the first is an AC\DC track which is 5:51 minutes long, this stopped playing at 1:18 minutes, same happens when selecting as an individual track. But this track plays fine when playing from the server using FOOBAR. The second track by Oasis is 5:02 minutes long, this plays fine when selected as an individual track and also using FOOBAR. Here is a log file from when Squeezecenter starting playing up again earlier. It shows the start of the track right up to where the squeezebox stopped before the end of the track. The tracks are in Flac format and the transcoder is set to native. Upgraded Squeezecenter to version 7.3.2 to see if this version made any difference. Player set to song mix and random tracks stop playing, only advancing if pressing FWD. Seems as though Squeezecenter is misreading the size of the file. The log file seems very similar to the one that "Melor" posted above. I've reinstalled Windows Home Server again added an extra 512mb to it and still having problems. This is Squeezecenter version 7.2.1 and using Squeezeplay to see if that replicated the same fault as the Squeezebox, it did. I've been having the exact same problem, posted a few days ago, but never had a reply. I have a new installation of windows home server and installed version 7.3 of Squeezecenter. Immediatly had this problem so upgraded to 7.3.1, still the same. So today I have uninstalled Squeezecenter and downgraded to 7.0.1 and still have the same problem. Never had this when my server was running Freenas with Squeezecenter 7.0.1. [slim] Random play, track stopping
I am having a problem with Random play>song mix. Every so often the track either stops midway or skips from the midway position to the next track. The Squeezebox is running wirelessly so I tried from another PC on my network which is wired directly to the server using softsqueeze, same result. Selecting another option, such as ALBUM plays correctly on the squeezebox and softsqueeze, I am running Squeezecenter 7.3.1 on Windows Home Server after initially trying 7.3.
