[slim] Losing connection to Slimserver
After changing my wireless encryption I have this problem. The player seems to lose the connection and it can't find it so I have to reinstall it. Then everything works just fine. Also, the installation works without problems. Everything is setup, I just run it through, and then it works again. Posted a new thread about this, but saw this now and would like to add my issue. Mine has been working all the way until I changed encryption on my wireless router. Every now and then it looses connection and I actually have to reinstall it to make it work. First I thought it was when turning off the computer, but it can happen in the middle of a song (playing from HDD, not radio). Sorry. Siemens SE551 WAP2 Slimserver 6.5.2 (worked before so don't think it's because of old version) Signal strength around 80-85% I've noticed that it can lose the connection anytime. Router firmware: v1.608 Little sceptical of upgrading the server as I've had some bad experience after doing that in the past. How stable is that now ? Does most plugins work ? [slim] Slow browsing with the remote
I've seen some threads about this, but don't know what to do about it. Lately I've noticed that the browsing is very slow. I choose Browse musicfolder/Mixed/ and then nothing happens. I have to wait about 20-30 secs before the list comes up. Now, that doesn't sound that bad, but it's pretty annoying and it used to work alot faster before. What can I do ? [slim] Running Squeezebox on other program ?
Is it possible to run SB3 with another program ? I'm so lack of Slimserver that anything else would do. I've had problems on and off the whole time. Just got a new computer and installed it first thing. It worked great for 3 days. Now It's just not starting anymore. It says starting, but then it gets dark again (in the little slimtray icon). I've removed everything and reinstalled the last nightly build. Now it says Slimserver running all the time, but I can't open up slimserver in explorer. "Site cannot be found..." Also I can't stop slimserver either. Well, I think I found a solution.ยจ Removed it once more and this time I installed the stable version. Seems to be working now, but I haven't tried starting up WMP yet :/ How do I keep my old favoritestations? I've tried both a new scanning and scanning new files, but nothing happens. Still missing a couple of hundred albums..(It has found some for some reason) I can browse them from the SB, but not search as they're not in the db so to speak. It worked when I runned the scan manually. Why doesn't it work from Slimserver-explorer ?!? I use separate files for each track. Eventhough I have some playlistentries that my program creates when ripping a cd, but that doesn't matter, does it ?!?
