[slim] Spotify on a hacked joggler and SB Duet - help please
Hi Here is my setup 1. A Mac in my study with all my music on it running OSX Lion connected to a router 2. A squeezebox Duet in my living room connected via ethernet cable to my music on my mac via the router 3. A hacked joggler in my kitchen running Natty Ubuntu connected via ethernet cable to my mac. 4. I am using the 3rd party spotify plugin (Tiodes I think???)and iPeng on my iphone The Spotify app works everytime on my mac without fail. It also works evertime on my iphone over wireless without fail. But, on a regular basis I cannot get any sound to play in either the kitchen on the hacked joggler or in the living room on my SB Duet. The timeline moves but no sound is heard? Sometimes on the Joggler I get a Remote Host not responding' message?? Yesterday I was happily streaming music all day, no issues at all. Then in the evening - nothing - I couldn't get Spotify to stream properly. Sometimes the first few seconds of a song would play then it would stop, sometimes no sound would come out but I could see the song looping through the first 5 seconds or so of a song. But - I could play the music on my Mac?? Which suggests it not an issue with Spotify, my internet connection or my mac. Any ideas?? My uninformed view is that I am having IP conflicts/network issues between my three bits of kit but I have no idea how to prove this or fix it. cheers -- KingTubby KingTubby's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16390 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90453 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I didn't set it up this way, that IP address is the one it defaulted too when I installed squeezecenter. I just double clicked on the icon on my desktop and thats where it took me! What IP addresses are you guys using then? -- KingTubby KingTubby's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16390 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54644 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] What have I done?
Hi I was running the latest beta (7.3 if I recall correctly) and as I say it was fine and dandy. Then kaput My PC is connected to a Linksys wag54gts router. When I try to access squeezecenter at 127.0.0.1:9000 it doesnt resolve which makes me think my router/firewall settings unilaterally reset themselves to block port 9000? Windows firewall is off and I have tried to re open port 9000 but not sure if I have been succesfull. I am tempted to back up my pc, flatten it and restart from the nothing. [slim] What have I done?
All was fine, I was happily listening to music streamed to my amp from my vista PC. Then it stopped. And now I can't get the squeezebox to connect to my pc. It sits there with a slow flashing red light. I have a feeling that my PC/Linksys Router unilaterally decided to re configure themselves and try as I might I can't get it to connect again. How can this happen without me actually touching anything? -- KingTubby KingTubby's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16390 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54644 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Wireless N?
So am I right in saying that replacing a wireless G router with an N router may not make much difference as the SB is a G Client so wont take advantage of the N routers increased (for want of a better word) bandwidth? -- KingTubby KingTubby's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16390 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53086 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Wireless N?
Cheers guys The general consensus is that moving to N is a good move with some caveats. Now, possibly a really stupid question...is the SB N compatible? [slim] Wireless N?
I'm thinking of upgrading my Linksys WAG54GS router as every now and then my SB suffers from a stutter. As I like Linksys products I was considering one of their wireless N routers. Have any of you guys upgraded to wireless n and was it worth it?
