Re: [slim] track volume levels - auto level?

2014-04-07 Thread MOMENTUM

just wanted to touch base as I finally added the replay gain tags (track
& album) to all my tracks.
Everything works perfectly with smart gain.

The only issue sI has was with the batch converter of DBPOWERAMP.. had
to keep the batch file total to 5k.

other than that all went smoothly

Thanks all for your help..so nice to not have to ride the volume knob
when entertaining anymore.
Cheers!

[slim] track volume levels - auto level?

2014-03-25 Thread MOMENTUM

Hello,
I've been using 2 Duet system for about 6 years and love them.
One thing I have always wanted to looking into is if their is a way to
auto level various audio tracks.
each flac album has it own dynamic volume, and when going from older
albums to newer the tracks the vol is an annoying issue to have to
always adjust.
has anyone ever found a way..perhaps an app.. to auto level the volume?
thanks

[slim] So what about Movies

2009-03-04 Thread MOMENTUM

I have 2 Duest and love them!!! Now Im on to thinking about the same
thing but for movies.
Is there similar versions that will allow me to b/up my movies and then
stream them. if so at what quality.

I was looking at a new product by western digital WDTV which allow you
to hook up an external hard drive to this media box and then hdmi 1080p
to a screen

wifi or ethernet would be better for various rooms

Just thought this may be a place to ask

Thanks

[slim] FYI SEAGATE hard drive failure "BE AWARE"

2009-02-18 Thread MOMENTUM

Hello All,

I just wanted to put out a note to users who may have there music
stored on Seagate drives. I tuned on my external enclosure the other
day and the drive would not get recognized by my PC. It became a
brick. PC would not see it. Tried another pc...no difference

My 4 drives are Seagate’s 7200:11 Barracuda 1TB sata drives (only 4
months old) and taken from there website there are issues with the
firmware which may turn it into a brick. They say its s small amount of
drives but 4 of my 4 are affected and there are almost 40+ page threads
on their forums with these issues.

Luckily a have a b/u but these are also on affected / defective drives.
Right now they are at Seagate Data Recovery Company to restore them.
Hope all goes well 2300 cds were dumped on them

The info can be seen at the below link.

http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=207931&NewLang=en

I just wanted to spread the word to help owners protect themselves from
potential data loss.

If affected be sure to b/up now and follow the above link.
(you should always have a backup)

I will update once I see what I get back from data recovery. Cross my
fingers..

Very Scary!!!

Re: [slim] Program To Conver .wav To Wma Lossless Or Flac

2008-10-24 Thread MOMENTUM

Peter,
If I use DbPowerAmp Music Converter Will it keep the same file
organization? Artist/album/tracks

How does it handle the tagging and cover art? Will it search and add?

If it doesn’t find it how will I know what file is what with 1600 wav
albums?

Can it store with file names and titles of file if no tag or meta data
is found?

Re: [slim] Program To Conver .wav To Wma Lossless Or Flac

2008-10-24 Thread MOMENTUM

Ok so how exactly does the “FlacFrontEnd” work with a drag and drop?
(how do I verify Tag info? Will I have to go through and verify?) Is
dbpoweramp converter better…? Can it be automatic?

Again I am organized Artist/album/track

Am I best to just do it all over with dbpoweramp as a flac?

I don’t really want to spent all this tiem again but I want it done
correct!

Will windows media center allow me to play and add to library

2008-10-22 Thread MOMENTUM

Ok I spent over 2 weeks dumping in my cd collection (1600) & (yes in

my computer to find that .wav files are not tag friendly. i did used
the wmp
option to fimd album info during the process. all cover art/info etc

Is ther a program someone can suggest that can convert these files on

Re: [slim] scanning library issues Duet & vista

2008-10-21 Thread MOMENTUM

This is quite confusing..

1st off I only want wav. No precessing no compression. I am selling
off my collection and want / have pure files.

While dumping in via media player some showed all track info& art…some
didn’t (where does windows get this info). The ones that didn’t. I
right clicked on the album and choose find album/artist. This says
it’s a meta file and names the track and associates a picture. So all
1600 cds have art/tracks etc in both media center and in media center.

No that I got a new vista machine a good % of the track/artwork was
messed up. As I start trying to find the info(tracks) again the
original art starts poping up.

Is this stored in a folder in windows? If so where? I’d like to
preserve this file in my external hard drive.

Now that I have gone through all the info again is there a way to be
sure I don’t have to go through this again. Can TAG&RENAME see this
info and permanently store it in subfolders?

All music is filed ARTIST/ALBUM/TRACKS.

As I said before I want to keep it all wav. One option is to convert
all my filed to flac and use that library for media center / squeeze
center and keep my external hard drive for a backup. Is there an easy
process to do this to my entire collection while using the track/art
info that is currently present?

Thanx for your help

[slim] scanning library issues Duet & vista

2008-10-20 Thread MOMENTUM

Having some issues with my Duet systm. Just picked up up and it works
great.

My issue is I have 1600 cds (wav) on a 2 TB external hard drive. after
scanning I am missing 20% of the albums. The albums show up in Media
center. sor do nt follow the way its arranged in my music folder.

I am using vista prem home and all music is sorted Atrist / Album /
Tracks

Any idea how a can correct this..I have rescaned twice...where does
squeezecenter grab its info from? could this be a media center issue?

Thanx
