Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android

2010-12-17 Thread MUCHO

Hello just wanted to say thank you for your work on SqueezeCommander.
Well worth the small purchase price. (Although it is by far the most
expensive droid App I have purchased)

I do prefer one thing about iPeng. The ability to manipulate the
playlist easier would be a welcome feature.

SqueezeCommander I can delete one song at a time or the entire
playlist.

iPeng I can select a number of songs at once to be deleted.

A minor quibble. Overall I really like SqueezeCommander.

Re: [slim] Wireless experts out there? I need help

2007-11-14 Thread MUCHO

I ended up solving my problem. First I decided perhaps it was getting
too hot since it is on 24/7 and I have been upping the power so I
opened it up and put some heatsinks on the 2 chips that were warm to
the touch. Unfortunately somehow this process killed the router - so I
now have a Trendnet draft N router that was $29.95 after rebate and
without any hacks or extended range antenna I'm getting 6-10% better
signal on the squeezeboxes.

[slim] Wireless experts out there? I need help

2007-11-08 Thread MUCHO

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot.

I have a Linksys 54GL flashed with Hyperwrt Firmware Version: v4.71.1,
Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c. I have the transmit power turned up to 67
mW which I've read is a safe range. I have the extended range antenna.
I'm using WPA security. It is about 1.5 years old.

The last couple weeks the signal has gotten flaky. I can't count of
keeping a signal anymore. It used to work solid with signal glitches
being rare. Now, they happen on a very fequent basis. How can I tell if
my router is dying?

I have a huge number of signals in the area competing - I've read
channels 1 6 and 11 are the only ones to use and all three have strong
signals. I've attached a scan of the surrounding traffic.

I'm not opposed to buying a new router but I don't want to waste money
if I don't need to.

If I do buy a router - please suggest one for me.

2007-11-08 Thread MUCHO

Yea - I've rebooted, unplugged, etc.

I'm going to try to reflash and clear the memory. Those are only the
computers that are on 24/7. You should see the traffic later today!

[slim] What happened to my squeezebox???

2006-08-02 Thread MUCHO

Hello I purchased two wireless squeezeboxes a couple months ago.
Everything worked great.

Then, several days ago, the one in the kitchen stopped being able to
connect. The one in the loft worked fine still.

I unplugged it, placed it right next to the router, and reset
everything. It worked for about 4 hours and hasn't worked since.

It won't connect and when its plugged in it makes my main computer
error with the following message... The system has detected an IP
address conflict with another system on the network. Network
operations on this system my be disrupted as a result. More details
are available in the system event log. Consult your network
administrator immediately to resolve the conflist

So - it hasn't been plugged in for a couple days. Today I decided to
try to fix the problem. So far I have done a factory reset on the
squeezebox and still have the exact same problem. Won't connect, when
it tries I get that network error message.

I'm using a linksys router v5 with the latest firmware.

The other squeezebox works like a charm.

I have the non working squeezebox 3 feet from the router.

[slim] Re: What happened to my squeezebox???

2006-08-02 Thread MUCHO

Its extremely possible you're right. I admit I don't know crap about
networking and settings. Whats wierd is:

A) It just suddently happened out of the blue

B) I have reset (power cycled) the router and factory reset the
squeezebox and the result is exactly the same.

I'll play around with it. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

[slim] Re: What happened to my squeezebox???

2006-08-02 Thread MUCHO

Thank you - problem is solved by assigning a static IP address to each
squeezebox.

Where's the staples button when I need it?

That was easy

:)

[slim] Re: Slim Devices Misses The Boat

2006-07-08 Thread MUCHO

FYI for an easier ripping/convering method...

I use CD-EX to rip the CD to wav and then DB power converted to convert
to FLAC.

Very fast, very easy.

I'm pretty computer savvy but I couldn't get EAC to even recognize I
have a CD drive for some reason.

2006-06-02 Thread MUCHO

Alrighty - I'll worry not! When it gets really hot up there I can't
turn on the projector or it instantly overheats.

Glad I don't have to worry about my precious! :)

[slim] How hot is too hot for my squeezebox?

2006-06-01 Thread MUCHO

Hello I have a squeezebox in a 3rd story loft that during the day gets
extremely hot. Tempatures will often exceed 100F sometimes over 110.

I've noticed the unit itself is a bit warm even when turned off.

I can unplug this unit when its not in use if these tempatures are
dangerous to the unit.

Obviously when its on and playing it will be signifigantly cooler.

Should I worry about my precious?
