Re: [slim] Speaker for bathroom

2017-10-18 Thread Max2Play

Hi guys,

@Hydro: First of all, congrats on what sounds like a great setup! :)
On your intended expansion; waterproof components are not really that
common for Raspberry Pi. Most cases are rather open. However, if you are
able to place the Pi out of harm's way, the new AMP2 by HiFiBerry could
be a great option for this zone. It supports higher voltages up to 24V
and nearly all common speakers between 4 and 8 ohms impedance allowing
you to get your speakers from the stereo into the mix. Nonetheless, the
device should not get splashed with water, ideally ;)

Re: [slim] Can I connect Squeezebox(es) to bluetooth speakers......?

2017-10-06 Thread Max2Play

You can use a Pi 3 with built-in Bluetooth to use either either a BT
speaker as a Squeezelite player output or your phone, tablet, etc. as an
input device channel in LMS with our 'Bluetooth plugin'

Hi Juggler,

We sort of built this for Bluetooth. A channel is created in the LMS
that interrupts playback when the paired BT device input starts.

Re: [slim] Is Bluetooth streaming to Squeezebox possible?

2017-03-13 Thread Max2Play

Hi afriend,
- Our current solution either allows for direct playback of Bluetooth to
the audio player or a creation of a channel in the LMS for Bluetooth
streaming which is created on the device where the server is installed.
It can then we streamed and synchronized with any and all players in on
the server. Check out our video on the feature:

Re: [slim] Is Bluetooth streaming to Squeezebox possible?

2017-02-07 Thread Max2Play

Hi rederikus,

I am sorry to hear that. As you might have found out from the
documentation, Max2Play is controlled wholly from any other browser in
your network (smartphone, PC, tablet, etc.) from the web interface by
entering "max2play/" in the URL bar. All features and options are easy
accessible there and we do not recommend using any other form access if
you are not already familiar with the system. The root password is
max2play, however, we also do not recommend accessing via SSH from root
but instead using sudo for specific changes you might want to make. You
also start Kodi from the web interface and shut it down there.

Hi rederikus,
Sorry about the inconvenience. We were absent from our offices during
the Winter Holidays through the new year. I replied in your topic in the
beginning of January. We now have a default image that is suitable for
all sound cards and other purpose. You can see it as the first and
biggest option on 'our download page'

Re: [slim] Is Bluetooth streaming to Squeezebox possible?

2017-01-30 Thread Max2Play

Hi guys,
Our BT plugin, when used for LMS, creates a specific channel for your
smartphone/tablet in the LMS interface that you can use to feed any all
of your Squeezeplayers. I made a little video on how to set it up 'on
Youtube' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt96_jnxnnU). The other
option, if you want to feed the input directly to your local player on
the Pi (Squeezelite or Shairport) is to select "Pulse" in one of them.
The stream is then directly fed to the respective player.
I hope this helps.

Hi maninthevan and mattpitts,
You can find the max USB current option in the Raspberry Settings of
your Max2Play web interface.

Re: [slim] Amazon Prime Music!

2016-11-10 Thread Max2Play

Hi d6jg and soundcheck,

Thanks for the feedback! It is true that the Bluetooth signal does not
support the highest bitrates out there. However, the idea was originally
conceived to find a solution to play Audible audio books with our images
on the Raspberry Pi. Audible does not support and thus cannot directly
work with the Squeezebox environment. With our Bluetooth plugin, it is
now both possible to play an Audible stream (or any other stream from
your smartphone/tablet) directly to your Pi via Pulse or establish the
previously mentioned second alternative of creating a favorite stream
"Bluetooth *yourdevice*" in the Squeezebox Server that will play the
output from your smartphone/tablet directly to all selected Squeezebox
players you select.
Consequently, I thought this also make a great workaround for the
missing Amazon Prime Music plugin in the Squeezebox system. And any
other missing services under Squeezebox. The key component we
established is the possibility to start a stream for your smartphone or
tablet with just one click that can be used by all Squeeze players in
the environment.

Re: [slim] Amazon Prime Music!

2016-11-09 Thread Max2Play

We now have a great workaround for both iOS and Android in the form of
our new Bluetooth plugin! The plugin allows you to pair your
phone/tablet with the Pi and automatically reconnect after pairing. It
then lets you either feed the audio from the phone/tablet directly to
the preferred audio outlet by selecting the "Pulse"-option in our
Squeezelite audio player or, even better, you can establish the
connection as a "radio channel" in your native Squeezebox Server to
immediately feed all your Squeeze players with the phone/tablet's audio
stream.
This way, you can easily use the Amazon Prime Music app on Android or
iOS to start playing your music from Amazon. Or really from any other
App or stream on your phone for that matter.

You can find the option by installing the Bluetooth plugin on Max2Play
and making a beta update (premium only).

If your friend's laptop's WiFi module supports access point technology,
you could establish an access point on the laptop to make its LMS
accessible for any device in its vicinity, including smartphones and
tablets. We use the same technology to turn' Raspberry Pi's into mobile
media centers '
our 'Access Point Plugin'

Re: [slim] Questions on alternatives to SB

While Sonos would replace your existing Squeezebox infrastructure, the
Pi with Max2Play would in fact extend it. Our system show up the same as
the original Squeezeboxes in your Server interface and perfectly
complement and expands multiroom Squeezebox applications.

Thanks Giza2020, ad6922 and RSJ for mentioning us! It means a lot when
you see users taking the software we built and utilizing them so
greatly. We started our project with a special focus on the great
capabilities of the Squeezebox system and the goal bringing these
features to the Raspberry Pi for everyone to enjoy. Now it is fantastic
to see such great solutions like RSJ's system based on our software. The
integration of the Rii to control Jivelite is a great touch that we have
not seen yet, great idea!
If you have any thoughts or ideas on the software that would make your
experience with it better, we would love to hear from seasoned users
what is on the top of their lists.
