I have the same problem, the Media server can't be set to started automatically, even when logged in as Admin user. [slim] Exception when trying to call readCoverArt()
SqueezeCenter SqueezeCenter Version: 7.2.1 - 23630 @ Mon Oct 20 19:52:55 PDT 2008 - Red Hat - EN - utf8 Server IP address: 192.168.1.67 Perl Version: 5.10.0 i386-linux-thread-multi MySQL Version: 5.0.67 Platform Architecture: i686-linux I kept getting this error report in the scanner log and working out the cause took some effort. I use sound juicer on a linux box to rip files and they go into an Artist directory then an Album subdirectory followed by the title as a file name. I also use windows via samba to access these files and have had problems in the past where linux will recognize special character but not Windows eg ? character. So I always check the ripped files in Windows and modify names accordingly. Yes same solution MusicBrainz tags. I am annoyed by this however since squeezecenter 6.51 obviously ignored these tags and just used the Artist name. Obviously in the latest squeezecenter MusicBrainz tags take priority. [slim] loossing playlists
I've just upgraded to 6.3.1 on a FC4 server, it has lost my playlists. The playlists are definetly there. I have tried recan playlist which only didn't work I have built a new playlist, saved it, it then appears in playlist window, and it is the saved in the same directory as other playlists. Yes I am using other software to create playlist and maintain my music. Amarok. This is a brilliant application, only availble in Linux. I,m trying to work out the best way to add to an existing playlist. Ideally I would like say select random songs and then when I hear something I like easily add it to a particular playlist; without having to stop the currently selected random list.
