[slim] Pandora ( & other streaming services) not working

2018-02-26 Thread btcompute

Since yesterday afternoon Pandora no longer appears in my LMS main
menu.
It was there and worked fine up until yesterday.

I have a Favorite set to one of the Pandora stations. It still appears
in Favorites menu, but does not run.
It shows up on the right side of the LMS screen, but if I click play
nothing happens.

My Pandora account works fine from a separate browser window, so my
account is still active.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.
I must be missing something because I don't see a Sound tab.
I'm using LMS ver 7.9.0
This is what I see when I open Control Panel:
24251

Where do I go from here?

[slim] PC Speakers to SqueezeBox

2017-12-29 Thread btcompute

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting the "PC Speakers to SqueezeBox" option to
work.

I have music playing on my PC speakers, and I have selected the "PC
speakers to Squeezebox" option listed in LMS under Home... Favorites.
LMS displays this when I hit Play:

PC Speakers to SqueezeBox
0, wavin

The time counter counts up indicating that something is playing through
the Squeezebox, but no sound heard.

Does wavin refer to the "Wave Input" plugin?
I have that installed and turned on in Settings.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

[slim] "Music Source" in Extras Menu?

2015-05-01 Thread btcompute

Hi,

It is my impression that the Music Source option in the Extras menu of
LMS is intended to send any music currently playing on my PC to my SB3.
Is that correct?

If so, it does not seem to be working that way.

In any case I would like to send any music playing on my PC's speakers
to the SB3.
Is there a way to do this?

Thank you in advance.

[slim] Squeezebox 3 and Windows 8.1?

2014-03-17 Thread btcompute

Hi,
Has anyone been able to use their SB3 with Windows 8.1?

My new PC came with Win 8.1 loaded and I cannot get Logitech Media
server to find the squeezebox.

Media Server says "Your player was not found".
Everything works fine on my older PC with Vista.

Software on the 8.1 PC says that the SB is connected to the network.
Windows firewall says that Logitech Media Server is is allowed through
the firewall.

Any helpful assistance/suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

Thanks for your efforts to help, I guess I'm just a little bothered by

I've been working with zip files for years with no problem. I just

Is it possible that the file I am downloading is incomplete or
corrupt?

I downloaded WaveInput102.zip from post #49 in this thread:

Winzip says that it "does not appear to be a valid archive".
ZipMagic appears to open it, but only sees one file contained within

Should I be downloading a different version of the plugin or from a
different location?

I've unzipped the zip file into C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server.
I've restarted Slimserver and it did not create the Plugins\WaveInput

I've sucessfully installed many other plugins without problems, not

Re: [slim] Possible SB3 Bug

2007-11-20 Thread btcompute

Actually, I am using a universal remote most of the time to control the
SB. None of the components controlled by this remote are JVC.

I can tell you that this behavior occurs when no buttons are being
pushed. I see this happen when I am the only person in the house, and
all I'm doing is sitting still in a chair watching the tube. I can't
think of any extranious signals that might be causing this. (Even if
there are some signals that I have overlooked, why would they cause
this effect only during Date/Time mode?)

Perhaps I should also note (in case it has any bearing on things)that I
recently moved the SB from a different shelving unit about 10 feet from
where it is now. The behavior occurred there also.

Any other thoughts?

[slim] Possible SB3 Bug

2007-11-20 Thread btcompute

Hi,

Here is the odd behavior that my SB3 displays:

While the SB is running but not streaming music, and the date/time
screensaver is displayed, the display switches to the volume control
for a couple seconds and then the display switches back to date/time.
This occurs at seemingly random intervals. It may happen 2 minutes
apart, or a couple hours apart. The SB is sitting on a shelf just below
my TV, so while watching TV I often catch this happen out of the corner
of my eye, so to speak.
Last night I noticed it happen three times at about 1/2 hour intervals.
I have seen it happen 3 or 4 times within a half hour.

This does not appear to happen while music is playing through it.

SlimServer Version: 6.5.5 - 14576 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Player Firmware Version: 81

This has been occuring for at least a couple months, and with previous
nightly revisions of SS.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian

"If you provide more details people may be able to try to reproduce the
problem. I found some small bugs (bug #5094 & 5103) in relation to
Pause near the end of track but they have been fixed in 6.5.3."

When this problem occurs with my SB3, I am usually playing one album,
usually 10 - 20 songs, all flac format.

I'm using SS version 6.5.3 - 12301 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252.

Never the result of pausing during a song. I rarely pause during a
song, and the problem has not occured when I have.

The SB3(about 4 months old), is wirelessly connected via a Netgear
wireless router.

Signal strength is consistantly 65% - 75%.

When the problem occurs, it always happens at the end of a song, and
the next song does not start, but the playlist does show that there are
more songs to be played.

As I have already mentioned, this can occur when nobody else is in the
house, and I am not doing anything that might interefere with the
signal. My closest neighbor is at least 200 feet from my house, and at
least on a couple occasions, not home at the time.

I hope this provides enough info.

Thanks,

Brian

Re: [slim] Does not advance to next song in list

2007-07-15 Thread btcompute

I get this same behavior. The current song ends, but the next one does
not play.

Wireless signal strength seems fine.

It can happen when I'm home alone, so I know it is not caused by
something that someone else in the house is doing.

My nearest neighbor is at least 200 feet away. It seems unlikely
anything coming from that house (cordless phone, garage door opener,
etc) would be causing this to occur.

SS version 6.5.3 - 12301 Windows XP

This has occured with a each of the more recent nightly updates I have
installed.

Anyone have any ideas?

[slim] Clearing "Now Playing" list

2007-06-03 Thread btcompute

I know that I can use the + key on the SB3 remote to remove songs one at
a time from the Now Playing list, but is there a quick way to remove All
songs from that list?

I realize that I can do it easily in SS by clicking the Clear link, but
I haven't found such an easy method from the remote.

Thanks,

Brian

Re: [slim] Notification that a re-scan is complete?

2007-05-28 Thread btcompute

>>Does the message change when scanning is complete?

Click the "Home" link near the top of the Basic Settings screen. If the
rescan is not complete you will get a message asking you to wait a
little while until it is complete, otherwise you will get the quantity
of Albums, Songs, and Artists in your collection.

It shouldn't take that long to rescan a couple GB of files.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to do a full rescan of my 75 GB of files.

[slim] SS Startup Behavior

2007-05-12 Thread btcompute

One of the recent nightly updates (don't know which one) seems to have
changed the way SlimServer loads on system startup.

It used to be that when I booted up my pc, the tray icon indicated that
Slimserver was running. At that point SS was running in the background
without the web interface being open in my browser.

Now, each time I boot up, in addition having the tray icon indicate
that SS is running, SS opens up in a browser window.

Can I get back to having SS run only in the background without opening
up in the web browser?

I seldom control the SB3 from the PC and don't often need to open the
web interface.

Current SS version: 6.5.2 - 11903 Player firmware: 81

I could just go back to an earlier version of the software, but then
I'd lose whatever inprovements/fixes are included in the current
updates.

Thanks,

Brian

Re: [slim] Everything works but playing

2007-04-12 Thread btcompute

I had the same problem last night.
While listening to an internet radio station, the music suddenly
stopped.
I could browse the music files on my pc and when I selected a song to
play the SB said "Now Playing" and the timer showed the total time of
the song, but it would not play.
Tried rebooting the pc, but it didn't help.

When I tried to get back into "Internet radio", the SB started
downloading a firmware update.
After that everything was fine.
I'm pretty sure the firmware version is the same now as before the
problem.

[slim] Tune In Assistance Please

2007-04-10 Thread btcompute

Hi,

I'm trying to tune in WZLX (www.wzlx.com) on the squeezebox.

I can listen using my web browser using:
http://cbsplayer.streamtheworld.com/?CALLSIGN=WZLXFM

mikesradioworld.com says pretty much the same thing:
javascript:wzlx=void(window.open('http://player.streamtheworld.com/CBS/?CALLSIGN=WZLXFM','wzlx','width=600,height=360,top=30,left=30'))

Strip out the code to open a new window, and the url is the same.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

Mark,

If I understand your suggestion, I would end up with double copies of
each of the songs.
It seems that the a key point of playlists is to avoid multiple copies
of song files.

Here is my thinking on this:

If I have created a playlist made up entirely of songs on my pc by a
particular artist, the logical place to see that in Slim Server is
under Albums...Artist.

If I come home from work and feel like listening to music by, say...
Garth Brooks, I go to Artists...Garth Brooks and look through what I
have of his music. If I have a playlist with my favorites of his songs,
this seems like a very logical place for that to be listed.

Why have to go to playlists to see that collection?

It would seem to me that the developers at Slim Devices could find a
way to attach an Artist attribute to the playlist so that it would be
displayed under the Artist's name.

No big deal, just seems like a good way to do this type of thing.

[slim] Playlists: Listed as albums

2007-04-08 Thread btcompute

Hi,

I guess we all know that it is possible to create a "Greatest Hits"
collection of a particular artist by creating a playlist.

If a paticular artist releases a Greatest Hits collection, and I
already have all of the songs on it because I have the original albums
that included those songs, I can match that hits collection by creating
a playlist.

Is there a way to get that playlist to show up as an album in Slim
Server rather than as a playlist?

For example could I create "Aerosmith's Greatest Hits" (if I already
have all of the songs on it), and have it be listed under
Artists:Aerosmith along with all the other albums that I have in my
collection by that band?

Any way to do this?
