No, the stations are still there just fine as they always have been. That is very easily verified by simply checking the station on another device. And, don't tell people what they "need or don't need". I don't "need" a PC in the places I'd easily carry around and use a portable internet radio. Besides, everything is now running along just fine on my Grace Digital Mondo+ unit. The problem was with LOGITECH, not the sources. buffettck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107925 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Smart people will stay with Squeezebox
I'm thinking about dumping my SBR for something else simply because it loves to stop playing my favorite radio stations for good. I updated to the UE firmware to get the iHeart radio stations back, but they've been going away over time, too. Now, my favorite (and only really) local new station won't play anymore. The SBR is an ancient piece of hardware and Logitech hasn't officially supported it in a long time. Time for something else. buffettck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107925 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Squeezebox.com
Piece of junk is still down here at 0700 in central Arizona. Now, my radio isn't even connected to my wireless router. The server being down shouldn't be affecting my local wireless connection. The symbol should at least be yellow, if not white. There's still a wireless access point with internet available. regardless of whether Logitech's crap server is up or down. buffettck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100541 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Squeezebox.com
I called Logitech product support this morning. They actually acknowledged the problem and gave a standard answer of 24-48 hours as to when the server issues will be fixed. I asked what would cause my connection icon to be red when I thought that meant there was no connection at all to a network, either wired or wireless. He said all it mean was that it wasn't connected to their server which is most certainly the issue because it's DOWN. I though he was full of you-know-what, but it does make sense. My weather app has been receiving updates all this time and the temperatures coincide with other reference sources like The Weather Channel. Also, when I try to re-connect to my home network, it always connects despite having the red icon. Maybe something changed in a firmware update with what that icon means and it's now different from what I remember reading in the instruction manual. buffettck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100541 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

toby10;689685 Wrote: If you try the ShoutCast App it will display both the number of current logins (listeners) and the max number of logins allowed by that station. Eh, sounds neat, but it looks like more trouble that it's worth. Doesn't seem to work anymore and everything can change on a whim. Found this below: ShoutCast has been completely removed from SqueezeBox content. Logitech is working on it but has no ETA for a fix. I suspect it will not be fixed for a while. Here is how you can still listen to ShoutCast content: Go to ShoutCast.com, search for your station, click Play. This should launch your media server program designated to play that type of stream and it will begin to play that stream. WMP, WinAmp, iTunes, etc... I use WinAmp. Now double click the stream name (or whatever you need to do to reveal the stream details including the URL), now cut/copy that URL. Now go to the web UI of either SBS or MySB.com, whichever you use, go to Internet Radio Tune in URL *paste the URL* play Once playing you can add to your Favorites. But keep in mind ShoutCast often changes it's station URL's so your station may play for 12 hours or 12 months, then it will just not play because ShoutCast has arbitrary decided to do it's URL shuffle game. Then you will have to do the cut paste routine all over again. -- buffettck buffettck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93518 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] How many people can listen to a radio station's stream?
Is it until the station's bandwidth is used up or something? I have one local station that always seems slammed in the afternoon. Most of the time I'll get some sort of Host Server Full type error message. I just keep hitting the button and, eventually, I get the stream. If I switch off to another station and try to go back, same thing and I have to try again. Not a big deal really, but I found it interesting that it *appears* to have a limit as to how many people can listen at once and I can receive it when someone else drops off that station's stream. This is the only station I've found that does this. -- buffettck buffettck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93518 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Thanks for the suggestion. What's his thing? Political, conservative, etc? Also, I like listening to local stations. There's so much damned fluff during the numerous commercial breaks, that I'd at least like it to be relevant to my area. Plus, any news.
