I've used this for a long time. I have several linux machines that I use rsnapshop to backup to a target server. Super simple and works extremely well. It helps to have an understanding of 'hard' and 'soft' links, at least so that you fully understand what it's doing. https://rsnapshot.org ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] [Announce] iPeng 7, the iOS 7 Squeezebox App for iPhone and iPad
Pippin, thanks for the update! One thing that I can't figure out and I miss - when my phone is locked (iPhone 5s, ios 7-whatever-is-current) the album art and player controls no longer appear on the lock screen. I don't remember ever having to specifically turn this on previously, nor can I figure it out now if it is indeed a setting. The older versions worked fine on this same phone and OS. What am I missing? Thanks! One of my favorite and most-used iphone apps that I've now bought repeatedly. :-) ddewey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3697 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100515 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] stream.mp3 tag question
PERFECT. That works great, JJZolx. Thank you very much! This is a great solution for someone like me that only streams from one location with a static IP (work). However, if your streaming IP changes a lot managing the tag display this way could be a major PITA. I think it would be great to have an easy-to-use configuration option to choose the title display for remote players - it only makes sense. The behavior is so different it's jarring - you want it to work the same way as a 'real' player, and there isn't any good reason why it doesn't. Anyway, thanks for the workaround! -- ddewey ddewey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3697 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46773 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Vista and DRM - Important read
I know it's long and fairly techie, but this is an important read, especially for this community. Just excerpt to pique your interest: The same deliberate degrading of playback quality applies to audio, with the audio being downgraded to sound (from the spec) fuzzy with less detail http://www.cs.auckland.ac.nz/~pgut001/pubs/vista_cost.html -- ddewey ddewey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3697 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32261 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
