I must admit I didn't realize there was more than one service for providing LMS with lists of Internet radio stations. This has prompted me to take a closer look at the apps gallery on MySqueezebox.com. :) -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94279 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I was able to repeat everything you describe here (only using VLC instead of foobar2000). As you say, the url isn't the same as what you suggested earlier. And when I copy the new url into the Squeezebox web interface "Tune in URL" window, it gets converted to something else again (http://tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch/tsfjazz-high). All these alternates are good to have, but I still wonder what could be going on with the Squeezebox RadioTime url. And I have no idea where to report the error, or I would do so. I suppose it will eventually get noticed by the right people and corrected. -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94279 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] What happened to TSF Jazz?
OK, the station coming in as TSF Jazz is Air Jazz & Soul Radio ("Le nouveau souffle du Jazz and Soul"). Their website is http://air-jazz.kazeo.com/. You can listen to them at tunein.com at http://tunein.com/radio/Air-Jazz--Soul-Radio-s134977/. Note the different station ID from TSF Jazz (which is s16492). Air Jazz & Soul is also on the Squeezebox (with station ID s134977). It plays the same program as Squeezebox plays for "TSF Jazz" (with station ID s16492). So it appears that Air Jazz and Soul has "hijacked" TSF Jazz's stream! But only for Squeezebox. How could this happen? And how can it be fixed? -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94279 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The URL it > appears to use is > > http://streaming207.radionomy.com/Air-Jazz?group=999 Yes, it plays, but it's not the right songs! This is the same programming as I am now getting with my radiotime url. The url I get by doing the same search is http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s16492&formats=aac,ogg,mp3,wmpro,wma,wmvoice&partnerId=16&serial=3d6c6aa37ac2b00138e0978c234ebd59 (The stream is unaffected by removing everything after id=s16492&.) Interesting that you have radionomy, and I have radiotime. I wonder why? Anyway, this is the new, "interloper" TSF Jazz, not the programming presented at TSFjazz.com or on the TSF Jazz radio stream at tunein.com, which is what Squeezebox used to play until a day or two ago. If the "interloper" programming were as good as the "real" programming, I guess I wouldn't care too much. But it isn't. I wish my French were better. Then I might be able to identify what's going on by listening to the announcements on the new stream. They don't seem to announce themselves as TSF Jazz. I keep hearing the phrase "jazz and soul," but that's all I've come up with so far. -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94279 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] What happened to TSF Jazz?
Not sure where to post this, so I'm posting it here. In the past day or so, I've noticed that the music programming on Internet radio station TSF Jazz (Paris) has changed, and that it no longer corresponds to the programming as announced on that station's website or that you hear on that website's Flash player. Moreover, if I go to tunein.com, RadioTime's website, TSF Jazz there shows the "correct" playlist and plays the correct songs. But the TuneIn app at MySqueezebox.com nevertheless plays the wrong stuff on "TSF Jazz." I've tried putting the tunein.com url for TSF Jazz directly into "Tune in URL" in Squeezebox, and it doesn't work. It displays the right image and station name, but nothing plays, and after about ten seconds the timer goes to 0. I notice that the station ID is the same for both the opml.radiotime.com url and the tunein.com url. I really have no idea what to do or where to inquire. Any ideas? -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94279 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] MusicIP documentation?
"patience both for getting things setup, and for the analysis of your tracks, which can take a verrry long time." Well, exactly. So I'd better read up first and pull the trigger later. :-) Following your advice, I looked harder for some discussion threads and found a couple of recent, lengthy ones, so that should help. It's good to hear an endorsement of MusicIP. The concept sounds great and like the kind of thing I would enjoy, too. But I've been wondering how well it works. In the end I suppose I'll have to just try it and see for myself. -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92740 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] MusicIP documentation?
Thanks for your reply. Perhaps I may be forgiven for thinking that this article's constant references to the defunct musicip.com website for info, instructions, downloads, etc., meant it was out of date! Fortunately, it begins to seem as if everything that's needed can be found at spicefly.com. This is starting to look like the sort of thing that requires a fair amount of background research before undertaking! -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92740 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] MusicIP documentation?
I have become interested in looking into MusicIP as a way of dynamically generating playlists of related songs, but I am having trouble finding out anything about it. MusicIP as a product seems to be defunct, but LMS includes a MusicIP plugin as though this were something we could implement. However, I can find no documentation for the plugin nor for almost any other aspect of MusicIP. The Squeezebox Wiki has a few obviously obsolete articles and nothing more (that I can find). Where does one go to begin learning about this? -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92740 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] What happened to the album art on Radio Paradise?
I e-mailed them and got a quick reply. Thanks for the suggestion! They confirm that the album art is being passed to their stream server, so probably it's not another instance of the problem they had before that you mention. But somehow it's not getting to us. I also tried the 64kbps stream and a different url that RP gave me, and none of these has album art. Neither does the stream you can listen to at RadioTime.com. Only the 192kbps stream displays album art. At least Radio Paradise now knows about the problem. -David -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72338 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] What happened to the album art on Radio Paradise?
Sorry to be late getting back to you. Thank you for spelling out your abbreviations for the sake of a newbee. For what it's worth, I find the same as you guys: the 192kbps stream has art, the 128 doesn't. But otherwise, it's a mystery to me why the art should have disappeared from a stream like this. I suppose whatever supplies it at the "station" is broken, but odd that they don't fix it. Perhaps they don't know. -David -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72338 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] What happened to the album art on Radio Paradise?
As of a couple of weeks ago, the album art has disappeared from my Now Playing screen in SqueezeCenter when I'm listening to Radio Paradise. It was always there before -- and useful to see, since the display doesn't otherwise give album info. Nothing else has changed -- I still get the group and track title information as text. Does anybody know what's up? -David -- dpotts dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72338 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
