[slim] Re: SlimServer iTunes plugin...
I agree the iTunes interface is superior to the current slimserver. My main complaint with iTunes is that it doesn't support FLAC, but I guess we can't have everything in life. I am using a Windows-only plugin that updates the slimserver playlist from the iTunes Party Shuffle playlist. More info here: http://www.jamescraig.co.uk/SlimServer and here http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25997 If I want to listen at the same time on my computer I use the latest version of Softsqueeze for Slimserver 6.3 and sync softsqueeze with my Squeezebox v2. It is working surprisingly well for such a kludgy solution. Sorry I can't be of more help with a Mac solution, but maybe you can glean something from Mr. Craig's good work. -- evergreen25 ---- evergreen25's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2500 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26165 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Re: Announcement: SlimServer 6.2.2
Installed over an older 6.2.2 nightly build with no problems. Running on Windows XP, SB2, Linksys WRT54Gv2 router. Now if only iTunes would support FLAC... then everything would be just about perfect for me. I am using the iTunesPartyShuffle plugin - it is GREAT! The drawback is that I have to have an MP3 version of my FLAC music files for the iTunesPartyShuffle plugin to work - this means I have two copies of a bunch of stuff in my SlimServer library - one MP3 for iTunes and one FLAC for regular SlimServer use. Maybe I am just not thinking of a better way to handle this? Oh yeah, also hoping to see some DRM support somewhere down the line. I like Pandora ok, but I would rather have access to one of the subscription music services like Napster or Yahoo Music. Not counting on it anytime soon given the previous statements made elsewhere in the forums, but it would be nice. Never hurts to ask, right? Keep up the good work! [slim] Re: Announce: squeezeslave 0.3
Squeezeslave 0.3 seems to be working fine for me on Win XP - I don't notice any particular sound quality issues when playing mp3. Sync with my SB2 is still a little off. Squeezeslave is somewhere between 0.1 and 0.4 seconds behind the sqeezebox. The amount of delay seems to be pretty consistent, but it may be varying a little bit. Here is the squeezeslave shell window information: Found 4 devices Primary Sound Driver : : 2 NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio : : 2 Primary Sound Capture Driver : 22050.00 44100.00 : 2 NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio : 22050.00 44100.00 : 2 PortAudio on DirectSound - Latency = 5376 frames, 121 msec Let me know if there are any recommendations to improve the sync. Richard - you mentioned something about adjusting the delay using this setting: set PA_MIN_LATENCY_MSEC=50 What is the syntax for that command? My guess would be: squeezeslave.exe 127.0.0.1 set PA_MIN_LATENCY_MSEC=50 Thanks again for continuing to work on this! -- evergreen25 evergreen25's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2500 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20750 ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Re: Announce: squeezeslave 0.2
Thanks for trying to get something functioning with better synchronization abilities than SoftSqueeze. I have a SB 2 connected wirelessly to a Win XP server through a linksys wireless router (WRT54G). Softsqueeze was consistently a few seconds behind the SB 2 when I would try to sync. I installed the squeezeslave executable and after a few hiccups related to the bitrate limiting player settings in slimserver it is now running on the same computer I use for Slimserver (Win XP box). However, the sync is not quite right - I think the squeezeslave is about 0.5 seconds ahead of the SB 2 at this point. Is there any particular information I can provide to help debug/improve the sync? Thanks again!
