[slim] iTunes playlists - not so smart
Is there a way to make iTunes playlists browsable in SlimServer 7? I want them to behave like the library, browsable by artist, album, etc. Now they just show up as a large list of songs. Speaking of playlists, why can´t the server detect so-called smart playlists from iTunes? I am using iTunes for Mac OS X 10.5.x. My files are mostly Apple Lossless, and some AAC. Everything has worked great before. The other night, "Artists" disappeared. [slim] Artist browsing missing
My library is complete and browsable both on the web and on the SB, with one exception: I can´t browse by artist. Here is Slim Server´s description: "Your music library contains 1052 albums with 11997 songs by 0 artists." SB´s display shows "Empty" when searching by artist. Nothing is missing, no panic, but strange. [slim] "No genre" for 80 albums
I have upgraded to 6.5.1 and iTunes 7.0.1, running Mac OSX 10.4.8. Ten percent of my music, about 80 albums, is labelled as "No Genre" in SlimServer. Thats goes for all sorts of genres from iTunes. The formats are MP3, AAC and ALAC. The MP3´s have IDtag v. 2.3. (Same problem with v. 2.2.) The problem was the same with SS 6.5.0. Someone mentioned having success with upgrading to 6.5.1 running on Windows. But the Mac is maybe a different beast altogether? Does anyone know what troubleshooting I should try? In an effort to get rid of the frustrating stack of remotes around the house, I´m thinking of getting some sort of universal remote. Problem solved. I had to throw away any files associated with SlimServer; from the system folder, library etc. Then I reinstalled v. 6.3.1. [slim] Mac interface not working
I´m using Mac OS X version 10.4.7, and my web browser is Safari. The SlimServer version is 6.3.1. Lately my web interface is showing only a playlist (see attachment), and I can´t get back to the full version, not even after reinstalling SlimServer in several versions.
