[slim] Perl error message
Installed 7.3.3 version of Squeeze Center a few days ago. When booting, I get the following error message: The procedure entry point Perl_new_xs_flags could not be located in the dynamic link library Perl58.dll. It is followed by two other similare Perl error messages. I have to shut down Squeeze Center and reopen to activate. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to reinstall the latest version. The next time I reboot the CPU, the same problem occurs. I have re-downloaded the update but that does not solve the problem. I am running Windows XP. Hi SuperQ, It's a Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL router. The items attached to it include the DSL box, a print server and a connection to the cat5 line that feeds the remote repeater. I'm using 6.5.1 I'm on a desktop that sends a hard wired signal from my DSL wired router to a repeater in another room. The repeater sends a wireless signal to the Squeezebox. Hope that helps. Maybe I should have made myself a little clearer. Not only does it not reconnect. Squeezebox actually shuts down and I have to "repower" it. [slim] Squeezebox shuts down on reboot
Why does Squeezebox shut down every time I reboot? It's a problem for me because the box is located about 150 feet from my pc. I've got to get up, walk to the Squeezebox and restart it with the remote. Is there a fix? So, if I don't use a hands off way of dealing with the router, what's the benefit of powering the router off and on vs. doing the same thing to SB? Never had the problem before 6.5 but now I have to wake up the Squeezebox every morning by doing multiple remote button presses. Not quite sure what combination of buttons does the trick. It also craps out every so often during the day if there is a period of inactivity (just like now.) Gotta go press some buttons. Yes I am running XP. Excuse my ignorance but I'm not sure what "running as a service" means. I opened control panel, went to admin, found services, and found Slimserver. It was already "Started". I stopped it, restarted it and Squeezebox was activated. Can I give you some other info? [slim] Squeezebox shuts down
Here is what happens. I generally listen to stuff on the web. At the end of the day I turn off my computer (Slimserver has been running continuously while the computer is on.) The next day I boot up the computer and Slimserver starts running. However, more often than not Squeezebox is not running (screen is dark.) Sometimes I can wake Squeezebox by pressing the power button on the remote. Sometimes I have to pull the Squeezebox power cord and reinsert it. Then I have to reboot the computer to get things going. This is a pain in my fanny since Squeezebox is about 100 feet away from my computer. I am running Squeezebox 2 and Slimserver 6.3.1 What can I do to solve this problem? I spoke with user support and told them that I had been running beta 6.5 before they released 6.3. I had downloaded and installed 6.3 without uninstalling 6.5 and that appears to have started the problem. They had me delete several files from Slimserver and then restart the system. Had to reload all my settings and music but that seems to have fixed it. Importing playlists from Itunes has been hit and miss for me. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Right now I can't get Slimserver to import any Itunes playlists. Frustrating. [slim] Slim Server stops and doesn't restart
This problem began about 2 weeks ago (never occurred before that.) I'm listening to a web station and the transmission abruptly ends. SlimServer's Music Player still shows "Play". I have to click "Stop" and then click "Play" to correct the problem. Then it reoccurs anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour later. I am running 6.3.1 (the problem also occurred before the upgrade.) My event log does not show any unusual activity. I am not aware of any conflicting wireless activity in the area. Any ideas? Hi JJ I thought again about your comment about removing CDs. Even though I didn't have any in the drives, I disabled one of the drives and the problem went away. However, I'm not sure why the drive would be spinning when there's nothing in it??? [slim] Hard disk spins fast during rescan
Hi, Of late, maybe since I installed 6.3, whenever I rescan my music library my hard disk spins up to where it sounds like an airplane getting ready to take off. And it continues to do that until I quit the operation or, in some instances, reboot my computer. I'm not sure if it's a function of the software or if my computer has gone berserk. Anyone else have this experience? [slim] Rescan stops, server stops
I inadvertently posted this in the Linux forum so I'm trying again here. I am running the 10/29 SlimServer software. I also updated the Slim Device per instructions. Every time I try to run Rescan the server stops after about 10 seconds. No error message, nada, nothing. When I restart the server and try once more the same problem occurs. So, I have no music in any category of the server. Never had this problem with the old software. I am running XP professional and have no playlists. Can anyone help me?
