[slim] Squeezeboxes within the familly
We have a frew squeeze boxes within the home but this crimbo my daughter joined the club which has introduced her own set of demands that until now were not an issue. Music Library's My daughter would like her own music library. This would also mean that I can setup her PC to rip music to that library. She also has a number of talking books and it would be good to setup them within thier own library as well. There seems to be an option to chosse a different Libraries but I'm not sure how it is used? Favorites The preset buttons on the radio seem to be global unless I have missed something? How about 3 of these (http://www.sumoh.com) with 3 SBR's and one SBC. I have this working. [slim] Upnp
I know Slimsever can attach to Upnp servers but I was wondering if control could be managed the other way? That is to control the SqueezeBoxes via Slimserver/Upnp. Yes it does via additional software, MediaServer and MediaClient. The MediaClient sits on a client PC and the NevoSL can be used to select the source from the server and play it out on that PC client. [slim] Nevo SL Remote control and UPnP
I have just upgraded my old pronto remote with a Nevo SL. I have noticed that this supports Upnp servers and players. Does anyone know if Slimserver & SqueezeBoxes can be intergrated? Thanks for that it looks as though the easiset way might be to setup the music in favorites and then call these. Problem tis my system can't send TCPIP but RS232. I'm wondering if a serial to ethernet converter could work? Time to start playing. [slim] Remote control
My first post with my shinny new SB3 :-). I'm looking for a way to start the squeeze box up remotely playing a preset channel, ultimatley I'm looking to intergrate it with a home automation system such that I press Dining on a wall switch, the lights change etc. and say, a soft Jazz station starts playing. Obvoiusly one way would be to blast IR to the device but that would rely on knowing its state. I undertand that you can control the unit via TCPIP? Any pointers on how I might start playing preselected music or radio stations?
