I recently purchased a Sonos Connect as a fail safe should Logitech pull the plug on mysqueezebox, which they eventually will, to listen to music services such as MOG. For someone who uses the Squeezebox for music services like Pandora,MOG, etc even 20-30 percent of the time , buying extra squeezeboxes will be a waste unless plugins are developed for them . I would not trust Logitech to do anything more then they think is legally required with mysqueezebox. I plan on using my SLIM DEVICES TRANSPORTER for as long as long as it is operational.I have a spare that is rarely used to replace this one .The Transporters will run LMS for as long as the devices are operational for my local library which is about 600 GB's and climbing. I have bought a Sonos Connect, with the coaxial output attached to the Transporter's digital input for inside my house and the optical output to my Benchmark dacs optical input for my enclosed porch area. Sonos has alot more music services anyway and that's all it will be used for . I hope I'm set for a long long time but should any of the posters here like Erland decide to come up with a Squeezebox replacement ,I will buy that too. Maybe Phil Leigh is working on a device? I like the Spotify iphone app but MOG seems much more organized to me. Do i really have to manually put my playlists in alphabetical order??!!! Could be wrong about this, but when I selected a song from > the icloud on my ipad last night, it downloaded the song to my ipad Yeah you have to download it manually from your Apple device. That doesn't impress me. I also notice there is no way to delete something you have downloaded from icloud from the device itself. So you still have to connect that device to the computer. That doesn't impress me either. Why not just download right from the comnputer? It will be much faster anyway. Those who pirated music might go for this but my whole library is in lossless format,so i have no interest. -- jhonsber...@msn.com jhonsber...@msn.com's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4438 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88188 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Well MOG is now available on Sonos. Hopefully we will see it soon on Squeezebox, but Mog support has said that the Squeezebox software is "quirky" and would take alot of effort to do. -- jhonsber...@msn.com jhonsber...@msn.com's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4438 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86216 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Mac Mini - going to sleep
I have a imac with a Transporter and Squeezebox Touch hardwired to a Apple extreme Router. When playing music on the Imac harddrive both will stop playing when my sleep setting(10 minutes)kicks in .My imac isn't supposed to sleep when there is hard drive activity, like playing music. Funny thing is I don't remember having this problem several months ago and I haven't changed my sleep settings.I have done Snow Leopard and Squeezebox server updates over the last several months so who knows what the problem is. last time I had this problem with the sleep function on my imac was about 4 years ago.Since then I haven't had the problem until recently again. Four years ago I just turned the Imac sleep setting to never when playing music.I guess i may have to do that again .I can do it remotely so its no big deal but I have seen this behavior before with Mac products and Squeezebox software. -- jhonsber...@msn.com jhonsber...@msn.com's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4438 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40226 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

But Amazon's cloud service is geared for consumer not business music and photo storage. I didn't see them touting this service for business use. This really is a consumer product and due to its pricing structure,I don't see much success for this service. -- jhonsber...@msn.com jhonsber...@msn.com's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4438 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86662 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
