[slim] How to display song artist when playing a favorite in 7.3??
with versions prior to 7.3 if I selected a song that was saved in favorites and then hit now playing it would display the song name and song artist - with 7.3 it doesn't do that anymore - only song name is listed. Any idea how to get this functionality working again?? JJZolx: I came to that conclusion too after someone else reminded me. The SB2 upsamples to 24 bits right?? So how does the volume scale (0-40) correlate to DB's? Say if the SB2 volume is set at 30 - how many bits of resolution is being removed from the 24bit? Would I be around 20 bits?? Thanks! I'm only using the SB2 digital out into my Tact 2.0S preamp/dac going into my Butler 2250 amps. I just have too much gain with my Raw Acoustics Apex II speakers - they are too efficient for my setup. I have to keep the volume on the Tact to -70db or it's too loud most of the time. The problem is that the Tact does it's volume digitally so it drops bits of resolution. The good thing is the Tact upsamples to 24 bits. I was told the SB outputs 20bits so I should be able to enable the digital output volume on the SB2 to reduce my volume a bit. Make sense? [slim] Replaygain question???
I want to lower the overall loudness of my FLAC collection. I have too much gain going to my amps and have to set the volume on my preamp way down so that the volume is low enough for late night listening. I'm using the digital out on my SB2. Could I use replaygain to lower the overall loudness of my FLAC's to accomplish this? I've tried inline attenuators on the amps but that resulted in a great loss of transparency. The amps have to adjustable gain pots... Any suggestions??? If I set a flac to -15db replaygain is that just like lowering the digital volume -15db meaning I'm gonna lose resolution OR??? Thanks in advance! is there anyway to do this? I have - > server settings - > formatting - > Show Artist with Albums set to enabled. This still doesn't show Artist - Album in New music. This works with the server but not the box itself. Any ideas? Im using Flac's. Just talked to SD support - they had me uncheck the builtin(firmware) setting under server-file types - flac flac builtin - with that unchecked it works fine.. Hi All, just unpacked my SB2, configured the network etc.. Started right up - as soon as my music starts its all staticy cutting in and out - sounds terrible. I'm using the SPDIF out to my Tact 2.0S DAC - if I unplug the SB2 and put my SB1 back in - problem gone. Any ideas???
