[slim] Transporter Digital Inputs bug
Not sure if anyone else has encountered this...when I want to hear any audio via my DVD player, and swittch the digital inputs...at first I hear nothing. I have to first select an incorrect input, ie BNC, hit play, then switch to the correct input RCA and hit play once more, before I hear any audio. Hi Recently upgraded to Squeezecenter...also am using a Transporter recently purchased. I rescanned my itunes database, but for some reason some albums just aren't showing up in Squeezecenter...though they play if I play them in itunes. Don't think it has anything to do with filetypes, as I can't even see the albums in SC. [slim] OSX software update and slimserver
just updated my software (ran software update, already had leopard installed a few months ago) and my slimserver doesn't start up! Both Start server and web access are greyed out in the preference pane. Not to mention I lost my internet access and had to reconfigure my router. [slim] OSX Leopard and start server woes
Recently did a software update and now my slimserver doesn't work I get the following when I hit 'web access' cant open the page http://localhost:9000/ because it could not connect to the server localhost. If I go to just 'http://localhost' I get my default start page so I know that apache is up and running. Could this have something to do with incorrect privileges?? Can someone suggest a solution? What kind of update did you do, from 10.5.0 to 10.5.1 or something else? I had 10.5.1 installed...it was a software update (under apple menu) What version of SS? 6.5.4 set to automatically start when I log in Did it work before the update? Yes, no problems! What about firewall issues? hmm, thanks, I added one additional step, I created a new streaming playlist in itunes. In itunes:ADvanced/Open Stream..paste the url Refreshed the playlists in Slimserver and voila! Hi Upon reading some posts on the supposed superiority of AIFF vs Apple lossless I decided to run my own tests. Unfortunately, I cannot get Slimserver to recognize my AIFF encoded files. I am running Slimserver 6.5.1 on a Mac and using Itunes to generate my playlists. I ALWAYS use the 'clear library and rescan everything' option when addind new music to the Slimserver library. [slim] Slimserver Itunes tip
There seems to be a lot of internet radio listed within itunes/radio section not listed thru the SB. Some of these stream at 192 kbps. I created a new itunes playlist called '1 itunes_radio' Beginning with number one puts it always at the top of my playlists. I tried using a period, but slimserver ignores these. Ok, so where is the slimserver suggestion box?? My first suggestion: Put rescan music at the TOP so its globally accessible. I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses this the most. [slim] SlimServer DOES NOT recognize aliases
Ok just found this out thru trial and error. My new playlists were not playing though Itunes played them perfectly. In Itunes preferences general, MAKE SURE THAT 'Let Itunes keep your music folder organized' IS NOT CHECKED! Also, don't use regular aliases (in OSX) to organize your music/playlists. Itunes will play them, and slimserver will show the playlist and songs identical to itunes, BUT IT WONT PLAY THEM! There needs to be a 1 to 1 correspondence bewteen your actual music files and those that are visible in slimserver's playlist. Hi As a relative new user I am confused why I can't first connect to the player from SlimServer. I always need to initiate the connection from the player/remote first. If I don't, SlimServer says simply 'player not found'. I'm having some issue in getting updated playlists to play properly ie, after rescanning, slimserver (or the player) will only play the first song in a new playlist (if at all)no matter which song in that playlist I choose. In the server all the playlists and song lists appear correct..any new music I add simply won't play. Is this simply because the server's scanning of the changed/updated itunes playlist is incomplete or hasn't updated fully? When there is a message 'The server is now rescanning your Music Library.' how does one know how long it will take??
