[slim] Squeeze Centre won't stop re scanning library
I have 'scheduled rescan' switched off yet as soon as I boot-up or switch-on Squeeze Centre it just starts re scanning the library which takes hours. Whilst Squeeze Centre is scanning it is nearly impossible to browse the pages as they just hang whilst trying to load. I don't want it re scanning my library unless I tell it to do so how can I stop it from doing this? And how can I stop it scanning once it has started without switching Squeeze Centre off? This is only happening since I started using v7.0. [slim] AIFF files don't play, why?
Why don't AIFF files play on the Squeezebox or Softsqueeze? I have them selected in server settings. No start up screen but I can see a red glow in the digital out socket, so there is power. Nothing happens with the remote power button and my computer can't see it on the network. Are Apple ever likely to make their songs playable on a SB without having to write them onto a CD and re import them? I would be much more inclined to buy ITunes songs if they did. [slim] File not found message
Anyone know why I keep getting getting 'file not found', 'empty' messages not just on new just added songs but songs that have been played before OK. It also happens while the song is playing, it will just stop. The problem is fixed if I clear and rescan. But I'm having to do this every 2 days. Will Slimserver see iTunes on my main G5 disk as well as my music folder full of FLAC Files on an external hard drive? Will it search in both places? Why when I select a song to play it just says 'Empty'. It will play the first 4 or 1 FLAC tracks of a ripped cd but not the rest for no apparent reason. When I select the song in the web interface again it just says 'Empty'. I have checked the files and they play OK on my G5 Mac. The Squeezebox will also stop near the end of a song with the message "Can't open file".
