Mine arrived this morning, just a quick question. Once its booted into Ubuntu and squeezeplay is running, I assume you have to keep the usb stick still attached and sticking out the side? Ive got squeezeplay running now on this, but nothing is playing. I only use Napster and BBC Iplayer, and Im not getting either of these to play. Can these devices only play local libraries? Also, Ive edited the file for a desktop shortcut but nothing has appeared? Whereabouts does it appear? [slim] No sound from optical out.
Hi, Im not getting any sound from the optical out on my SB Classic. The cable and amp are fine as Ive connected my Duet and it all works. Just seems to have suddenly stopped working today, the display and everything else seems fine. The only thing Ive done today was install the Spotify plugin to take a peek, but realised it was Premium members only and have uninstalled it, so cant imagine that should have caused a problem; all my other players still work. Any ideas if there's a setting somewhere to change, or had my optical output died? [slim] Can't stream anything
Tried to stream some music just now with my Boom or squeezeplay, from either Last.fm, BBCIplayer or Napster and none of them will connect. Everything seems to be working ok, apart from the plugins tab in SBserver, which comes up with the message 'Couldn't resolve IP address for: www.mysqueezebox.com' Not sure of its a server problem or mySB.com problem. Sorry should have added more info. Running SBS on my Win7 x64 desktop, and have stopped and restarted the server, no success. In the diagnostics all is reported as ok. Rebooted the rooter and PC and all working ok again. [slim] What software to control my squeezebox?
Hi all, Ive just bought a Samsung NC10 netbook. Im going to use this a lot sat in my lounge and listening to my squeezebox. Id like to use the netbook to control my squeezebox, whats the best way to do this, what do others use? Is there a slicker piece of software or anything i can use instead of the web browser and various squeezecenter skins? [slim] Exporting settings for new squeezebox server install?
Hi, Im currently running Ubuntu, and am getting a new PC with Windows 7 tomorrow. Is there a way I can export all my settings and then import them after I install SBserver 7.4 in windows 7, rather than having to install all plugins and set them all up again? I did come across Settingsmanager plugin, but it doesnt seem to work correctly in 7.4, and when I try and export settings nothing seems to happen? [slim] Now Playing info always showing bbc stream?
I got my new Boom yesterday, had it setup and working straight away and sync'd with my SB3, love it. I was listening to BBC Radio 1 Live stream yesterday with the AlienBBC plugin, and now whenever I play an album from the Napster plugin, the now playing screen, which Ive setup with MusicInfo plugin still shows the info for Radio 1? It works ok with FLAC music on the server in My Library and shows the actual info for the current track. Ive tried searching but couldnt find any info on this. Any suggestions, or other info needed to try and help? Yeah in the UK. I play it from the AlienBBC-Live Streams Menu. Ive restarted squeezecenter and my players, and changed a couple of other settings and it seems to be ok now, probably just some cache needed emptying? [slim] Classic 3 dead?
My Classic 3 appears to be pretty knackered. There is no display at all and the unit doesn't appear to be turning on? Ive changed the power supply and can see the optical light is flashing at the rear and can hear a v quiet clicking sound so the unit is getting some power. Ive tried holding 1 and + while turning on and nothing happens. Also took it apart and disconnected the wireless card with no effect. Anything else to try or other options? Or am I resigned to having to buy a Touch? [slim] BBC / Unable to play file type on NAS.
Ive bought a Synology DS212j NAS and have just installed LMS on it. I have added the BBC app from mysqueezebox.com and have previously been using this on my players and LMS installed on my desktop. However, when trying to play BBC 1 now using the NAS as the server, I get 'unable to play file type for: BBC Radio 1' How can I correct this? I cant seem to find any settings for it? Does some kind of codec need to be installed on the NAS to playback the BBC stream that I already have on my desktop? Spot on! I was testing it with Squeezeplay on my desktop as I was setting it up. Just tried the Boom in the kitchen and it played ok. So all the other players can playback WMA streams fine apart from squeezeplay? Why's that?
