[slim] Cannot load Squeezecenter in WM6 browser
This problem has been driving me nuts for the last 6 months or so. I have an HTC 8925 which I want to stream music to from my Slimserver. The phone has no trouble connecting using TCPMP (...:9000/stream.mp3), but I have no way of controlling what is played through the phone, as no browser will open (slimserver):9000 or (slimserver):9000/handheld. I ultimately want to be able to (using Hamachi) stream my music anywhere over 3G or Wifi. When I first got the phone (before Squeezecenter), I had no trouble loading the web interface, though it was noticeably quicker when I did so using Hamachi. I have tried many different programs (Internet Explorer, Opera, Slimremote, etc.) all without positive results. Slimremote even seems to connect, but does not find a player or any music. What I don't understand is how the media player can connect successfully to slimserver when the web interface is nowhere to be found. I formatted the computer and reinstalled Windows, and everything works now. Version 6.3.1 happens to be the latest one I have the install file for prior to v6.5.0, and when I install it Slimserver won't even start. Before this problem started happening but before upgrading from 6.5.0 to 6.5.1 I installed Media Player 11 on the server in order to enable music sharing with my Xbox 360. Reverting to v6.5.0 leaves me with 0 albums with 0 songs by 0 artists instead of the aforementioned (and false) 1/1/1, which obviously is no better. I'm getting closer and closer to formatting the computer and starting over, but before I do that I'm going to go ahead and continue reverting back Slimserver with each version I can find just in case one works. I have indeed tried all of the above, but thanks for your suggestions. I suppose the next move is just to take v6.5.1 off entirely (again...) and just use one of the older versions I fortunately still have the installs for. It actually seems like the more times I reinstall/rescan the less music I end up with. For instance, the 10cc folder (just happens to be first in the artist list) dropped from the full 16 tracks to 11 to 8 and now I've only got one showing. [slim] Update to v6.5.1 creates problems
I updated to version 6.5.1 and proceeded to clear my library and rescan everything, which apparently was a vile mistake. Any time I do so, It leaves me with 1 album by 1 artist with 1 song (which doesn't exist). If I rescan, it finds any random 1/4 of the songs in my music folder. I've reinstalled and rescanned many times only to get about a quarter of the songs (and not necessarily the same ones) showing up in SlimServer each time.
