Re: [slim] command line help
That seems like it will work better, certainly simpler. I've got this in crontab now: 30 22 * * * echo 31:14:21:14:87:39 pause 1 | nc localhost 9090 -w 1 30 22 * * * echo 00:04:20:05:59:be pause 1 | nc localhost 9090 -w 1 Let's see how it goes tonight. -- stinkingpig "That which does not kill you makes you bitter and cynical." -- Too Much Coffee Man stinkingpig's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=547 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Yeah, I tried that, and I tried separating the commands into two scripts in case there was some sort of browser ID issue... no soap.
[slim] command line help
Hey, I'm trying to pause two players with a cron job. I've used a Perl LWP script: Code: #!/usr/bin/perl use LWP::Simple; my $1_url = "http://127.0.0.1:9000/settings/status.txt?p0=pause&p1=1&player=31:14:21:14:87:39;cauth=redacted";; my $1_status = get $1_url; print $1_status; my $2_url = "http://127.0.0.1:9000/settings/status.txt?p0=pause&p1=1&player=00:04:20:05:59:be;cauth=redacted";; my $2_status = get $2_url; print $2_status; Both URLs work in a browser... but in the script, only the second player is ever affected. Any ideas? A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42805 Question: Would you buy a Slim Devices/Logitech branded amp? - YES! - NO! I might buy a couple more Squeezebox type systems, but my house has nearly reached saturation for music-players. Since the house isn't getting bigger, that means I think future growth for SD/Logitech needs to be in other areas. The two that spring to mind are: video jukebox: a DVR type of system that is as easy to setup and use while still retaining the flexibility of Squeezecenter. On the one hand, that's a tall order and a tight market full of pretty good players. On the other, none of those players has won my money yet... still on the trial DVR from the local cable company. picture frame: this seems like an obvious gimme, given the lame and expensive level of product that's out there now. The hardware I've seen isn't bad, just kind of ugly... but there's a crying need for server software that can handle photo formatting and presentation over wireless. SD cards? USB cables? XP-only desktop apps? Re: [slim] Squeezebox Boombox
I don't see where that device can play streams from Slimserver, aside from stream.mp3, but then you need a laptop to choose music, and you might as well just use Softsqueeze. Re: [slim] Why is Transporter Soooooo $Expensive$ ?
A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36178 Question: How low would the Transporter price have to go for you to buy one? - < $300 - $300 - $500 - $500 - $800 - $800 - $1000 - $1200 - $1500 - $1500 - $1800 I'm not going to buy one at any price. I don't have a stack of audio equipment for it to slot into, and my hearing isn't good enough to tell the difference between a Transporter and a Squeezebox (yes, I have heard both). I have Squeezeboxes in the rooms where I want music, with better or cheaper (but always small) powered speakers attached. They're clocks, weather stations, and sound machines. -- stinkingpig "That which does not kill you makes you bitter and cynical." -- Too Much Coffee Man stinkingpig's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=547 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36178 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] SlimTray.exe unresponsive and huge
This would be a more efficient way to get the desired outcome: PHP code: if (Win32::Service::GetStatus( '',$key, \%status)) { print "$key is present\n"; } else { print "$key is not present\n"; } $key needs to be the shortname of the service, not the slim.exe name. -- stinkingpig "That which does not kill you makes you bitter and cynical." -- Too Much Coffee Man stinkingpig's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=547 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32257 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
