[slim] MAC OSX - How do I direct Slimserver to read music files on an external drive?
I'm a recent PC to Mac convert (Vista/Fat32 file system corrupted my Vaio and all of my ripped music). I can get Slimserver and the Mac Mini/Airport setup to work fine, but can't get the SS to scan my external Iomega HD for music. I'm not clear on Mac filepath structure yet and SS/OSX doesn't seem to support "browse" in defining file paths. None of the combinations I use work (e.g., Devices->Iomega HDD->Slimserver Music) So my question is: How do I get the music file designation currently set at: /Users/stephentippie/Music Which reads the library on my internal HD fine, to point to: Iomega HDD->Slimserver Music Which is what I've set up to hold my ripped music. Thanks, Steve PS. Either start both services or reboot. But no joy. Still just cranks the hard drive endlessly and no launching of the interface, but says SS is running (maybe it is somewhere else). I've opened the firewall, etc. everything else suggested in this forum. Wonder if MS will give me a break on a "Downgrade" to XP? My SS and SB2 work perfectly in Vista. Hello - I just started trying to get Slimserver to work on VISTA and not having much luck. I can make 6.3 work but nothing after. I'd like to try setting the SSSQL and service to automatic. How do I do that? My Squeezebox comes in today and it would be nice to be able to run it on the latest and greatest release.
