[slim] library not loading!Please help!
Hello everyone. I have a Dell Poweredge Server running Windows 2003 Server and 2 GBs of RAM. My music consists of about 80,000 tracks in MP3 and flac formats using 2 USB external hard drives for about 800 GB of external storage. Up until about 2 days ago, I had never once had a problem. I upgraded to 6.5.4 and everything upgraded fine with the exception of the scanner. I ran task manager and saw that scanner was using about 1 GB of RAM, the after an hour, I got a prompt saying that I was running low on virtual memory. I then stopped scanner and restarted slimserver. I had 0 files in the library. I restarted the box. Same process, hangs after an hour. I needed to rebuild the box, so I went ahead a rebuilt with fresh win2k3 and 6.5.3 - Same behavior. I can go into the music folders with Slimserver and all the folders are there and I can manually add them to the library, just can scan them in the normal scanner fashion. Any ideas? thanks, Bill -- taylorbill taylorbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3716 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37037 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] library not loading! Please help!
Ok - I think I got it working! A Combination of the following did it: 1. Installed Perl (don't know if this had any effect) 2. Changed the server permissions on the drives 3. dropped the music share one level down from the root -- taylorbill taylorbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3716 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37037 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] song count and genre tag problems in 6.5.1
Hello everyone, I've been using 6.3 (on Windows 2003 Server)with no problems for a while. I wanted to upgrade to 6.5 because of some bug fixes and general curiousity on 6.5. Anyway, on 6.3, my song count was around 58000 songs. I have a mixture of MP3, FLAC, and a few WMAs. I also only use v2.3 tags with only 4 genres (Christmas, Childrens, Classical, and the largest group - MISC) After upgrading to 6.5.1, My song count jumped to way over 91,000 songs with about 50 different genre tags. I did some research and found that I could still have some v1 tag info on some files, so I downloaded ID3TagIt and removed all v1 tag info. I have very clean tags on v.2 and the behavior on 6.3 was great. So after stripping the v1 tags, rebotted, deleted the cache file, then let it rebuild the cache file. After that I still got the 91,000 songs with over 50 genres. I have looked into the tags using TagRename, ID3Tagit, MP3Tag, iTunes, Windows Media, and dbPowerAmp. For the life of me, I can't find out where it is getting the incorrect tag info from. I read in a few posts that an XSOP tag may be to blame. Has anyone else seen this behavior? How can I fix it to have just my 4 genre tags from v2? Is there an MP3 tag editor out there that I edit the XSOP tag? Thanks, That seemed to work. Does foobar handle tags differently from the other programs? -- taylorbill taylorbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3716 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31922 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Where would you update that. I had assumed that is resided in the status_header.html file, but can't find it in there. -- taylorbill taylorbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3716 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26592 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
