Mark - we don't have any binary modules for perl 5.8.5 on the
LinkStation, as that's not what it ships with by default.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've got a few questions to make sure I
understand completely. Do you guys include the binary modules for Perl
5.6.x on the LinkStation? A lot of LinkStation users have upgraded to
Perl 5.8.x to get the SlimServer 5.x database cache and RSS features to
work (based on the understanding that they did not work with Perl 5.6.x).
I guess the database cache is no longer an issue, but does the RSS ticker
no longer require Perl 5.8.x? Do you recommend that LinkStation users
stick with (or go back to) Perl 5.6.x? Or is there a plan to add Perl
5.8.x PPC binaries at some point?

Thanks!
Marc

We can add the 5.8.x binaries - 5.8.x is a much better platform overall.

Great -- thanks! I'll keep things as they are on my LinkStation and wait
for a newer release of SlimServer 6.
