a "craigslist" receiver can be had for a modest amount e.g. http://annarbor.craigslist.org/ele/1675795075.html http://annarbor.craigslist.org/ele/1664030548.html http://annarbor.craigslist.org/ele/1692550535.html http://annarbor.craigslist.org/ele/1693095138.html -- Kiwi SB Receiver, 3 x SB Boom, SB Touch, SqueezeCommander running on Samsung Moment Android device. Re: [slim] Amp Recommendations
Actually, as you're in the US you can get an AudioSource Amp100 for $100, but even then I agree with pski that you may as well get a second hand amp or receiver. It's hard to imagine you won't be able to find a lot of decent second-hand amps at good prices when the students start leaving Ann Arbor in a few weeks. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77573 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I'd just find a used receiver.. a decent amp like an Audiosource is going to cost $150. A used receiver would be much cheaper and would work fine for limited fidelity alternatives like Bose. [slim] Amp Recommendations
I've got an extra SBR and an extra set of speakers, but no amp to put in between. Can't let a good Squeezebox go to waste, so I'm planning to setup an additional listening zone in the basement. Can someone recommend a basic 2-channel amp? Not looking for anything fancy, the speakers are junk (a pair of old Bose 201 bookshelves) but will work fine for the basement. -- ajkidle 2x SBR, SB3, Boom, Radio, iPeng ajkidle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18929 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77573 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
