If you want to use the other devices, use squeezelite which you can setup as a windows service and jivelite for the controller. There's a howto thread on these forums about creating the service. Alright ..I went ahead and used the details from "#15" and added them to the "Environment Variables". Also used a value for latency: 22658 While dxd files seem to be played now (playing time in the GUI is running) I don´t get any sound while choosing Squeezeplay as the player. DSF files still won´t be played at all. Further digging required ;-) +---+ |Filename: 2017-05-03 14_39_15-Umgebungsvariablen.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22658| +---+ marflao's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57334 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107361 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Using the squeezelite-win.exe -l command the following output devices are shown: 22655 Now my question is which one I should use? #3, #8, #11, #13 or #15? I tend to use #15 since it seems to point to the correct driver (but maybe I´m mistaken). Although I´m not sure why there is sometimes "LH Labs Geek Out V2" and then also "Geek Out 2A Signature 1.5" mentioned. Thought the Notebbook approach is handy and even if I don´t get it set up properly (to play all files inlcuding dxd and dsf) I guess I will use it. But would be nice though if all files will be played correctly (as via the Pi2 in my living room system). marflao's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57334 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107361 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Downloaded the latest win exe file, started it and pointed it during the setup process to my NAS. Bingo. As you mentionend I can access it via the SBT user interface and could also synchronize it with the Pi2. At least songs with sample rates up to 24/192 are synchronized correctly. With dxd files it´s rebuffering all the time; dsf files won´t be played via Squeezeplay. Hence I assume the audio output is not set correctly since my USB dac is capable of playing those songs. Most likely this is set somewhere else then in the SBT-like-GUI, right? Guess I have to dig a bit deeper into that post here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?96573-SqueezePlay-for-Windows-with-ASIO-DirectSound-WASAPI-and-WDMKS-device-support&p=718893&viewfull=1#post718893 Can´t figure out currently where to change those mentioend "User Environment Variables". [slim] Another zone | Squeezelite or something else?
Dear all, need your expertise on the following: in my living room I use a Pi2 w PicorePlayer and a Syno NAS on which LMS 7.9.0 is installed (and all my music is stored). Now my thinking is to use my WIN 8.1 Notebook with an external USB Dac connected to an active speaker (nothing fancy) at my patio (Notebook and Pi2 should be "synched" then). I don´t strive for HighEnd sound but it would be nice to listen to the same songs as from the living room system ;-) Questions from my side are: i) will "Squeezelite" (as described in http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?100893-HOW-TO-Squeezelite-player-on-Windows-8-step-by-step ) do the job? ii) if the answer to i) is "Yes" can I also control this "patio zone" via Orange Squeeze (which I already use for controlling the Pi2)? In case Squeezelite is not the right choice for my intention what would it be? Many thanks in advance.
