i know that you can have multiple servers running. you could just connect your squeezebox to the different servers. i am not sure about accessing your itunes files remotely. you may not have access to playlists or some features. i am not sure though because i don't use itunes in this way. i would suggest that you test it on the laptop using a couple of local files / itunes on the laptop. -- lrossouw -* 'Recently Played on my Squeezebox 3s' (http://www.last.fm/user/lrossouw/charts/?charttype=recenttracks) *- lrossouw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3416 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55647 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Can I test 7.2.x on a laptop first?
I'm thinking of moving up to 7.2.x from 6.5.1, principally so that I can use the latest benefits of the iPlayer plugin over the deteriorating effectiveness of AlienBBC in 6.5.x mode (BBC's fault, not the great Alien guys). I'm on a Mac running OSX 10.5.5. Is there anything to stop me trying out 7.2.1 on my (also Mac) laptop and leaving the desktop machine, the one where 6.5.1 currently resides, with 6.5.1 until I decide it all works? Could I, for example, access my iTunes library, which resides on an outboard hard drive, from the laptop, as part of my test, without upsetting anything? I'd be grateful for any guidance. I'm just thinking that moving up to 7.2.x is a little more tricky and trouble-prone for Mac users than PC users, from what I've read here. -- whitman whitman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9053 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55647 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
